Top 5 Reasons to choose the Conservatory over every other audio school:1. Mandatory Internship. Every student must complete an internship in order to graduate. Why? Because the only way into the audio industry is through an internship. We know this. So, we let you pick it, and then we make the calls to set it up. Your internship can be anywhere, L.A., Nashville, N.Y., Atlanta, Vegas, Chicago, Seattle, San Fran, Austin, you name it. ALL of our students get internships, and the vast majorities turn it into a job. That's the reason you want to go to school in the first place, isn't it?2. Selective Enrollment. That means, unlike almost every other school, not every one gets to attend the Conservatory. Why? Because we want only serious, motivated, dedicated, hard-working individuals in our classes. That means you will be learning with other students that are here for the same reason you are, and not screwing around in class and slowing others down. If you aren't serious and ready to work you won't make it through our program, and if you can't make it through our program, you won't make it in the industry. I can't make it anymore plain than that.3. Only 12 students per class. That's a 12:1 student/teacher ratio. Your instructors will know you by name; you will get more one on one time, and much more hands-on time with the gear. Fewer students means a much faster pace of learning, and the faster you learn it the sooner you get into the industry and start your career.4. Access almost 24/7. The Conservatory is always open. Once classes are over for the day students can use the labs, live sound venue and studios to work on projects or practice what you've learned. It's mandatory for each student to book several sessions in our studios after hours, and the best part is you run the sessions! Your classmates can come in and help you, but there is no instructor watching over your shoulder telling you what to do. It's your show, you make the calls. These sessions let us, and you, know how well you are doing. Studio time is free for you, and free for the artists you choose to record. The artist gets a free recording and you build your audio resume. It's win/win.5. Manufacturer's Certifications! Potential employers want to know what you learned at school, but more importantly, they want to know just how well you learned it! Being certified on industry standard hardware and software will make a huge impact when landing a gig. A manufacturer's certification proves that you met their guidelines and passed their test, showing you really know their gear inside and out. Here are the certifications you can get at CRAS:Pro Tools 101, Pro Tools 201, Pro Tools 210M, Reason 3.0, Logic Pro, Waves, T.C. Electronics M3000, T.C. Electronic System 6000, Antares Autotune, JBL Vertec Line Array, SIA Smaart, Audiokinetic Wwise(coming soon).

Conservatory graduates are my heroes because they are people that had a dream, took the necessary steps, overcame obstacles, and worked their asses off to turn that dream into an every day reality. Congrats to all of you who are living that dream! Here are some updates from just a few...
Clay Barlow graduated in August of 2007 and had this to say about his experience:
I took all the advice you gave me (basically work hard, don't be an ass, and use common sense) while interning at WaveGroup Sound in Fremont. I got hired on as an assistant engineer when I completed my hours, and as of Jan 1 08, I've been promoted to Engineer with salary pay and benefits. I couldn't ask for my life to be any better right now and I owe a lot of that to the Conservatory, more specifically the internship department. You guys hooked it up and your advice is far more valuable in this industry than any SSL class could be. Anyway just thought I'd say thanks for everything. Oh yeah, WaveGroup is going to be the featured studio on the cover of Mix Magazine Feb issue, with a full article and pics inside, very cool! Check it out!
Thanks again brother.-Clay
This is a video testimonial submitted by CRAS student Krystle Sanno just before leaving for her internship in New York. She tells you exactly what to expect here at CRAS! Check it out...
Sam Hughes and Dan Vivanco are both graduates, working in the industry as professional audio engineers, but also having success with their band. The Sammus Theory is signed to an indy label, has performed on the Carson Daly show, and is touring in support of their newly released album. Their education and networking in the industry allowed them to have success as both engineers and artists! This video was shot at Porcupine Studios in AZ where they work and rehearse.
Conservatory Graduate Greig Perrin had this to say about his internship experience: "I was interning at CCI Digital in Burbank for 2 1/2 weeks, then got recruited by corporate, and am now working at DVS Intellistream (the company that owns CCI) doing library maintenance and veil encoding. I'm also doing some freelance engineering for Jeff Deane at DELINQUENT records in Santa Monica. Can't say enough to thank you for the quality of education I recieved. Like I told Troy...CRAS grads are like catnip to these people..it's insane!"Graduate Andrea Mock is working in both the technical side of the industry and the business side! Here's what she has to say: "Im currently working my behind off and managing a local band Good With Grenades. They have been friends of mine forever but they needed someone to run everything for them so i took on the part. They just got back from a tour I booked them and everything is going awesome for them and me...I've met a ton of people and have even more contacts around here and in other states, so yeah. The money is not great but its way fun and always a helpful resource! Me and the singer record/mix everything in his practice space on Cubase. Really the only help we have is the mastering house so its awesome."
Conservatory Grad Ben Brasile says, " My CRAS experience was extremely positive. I had an absolute blast, and learned plenty. I composed and recorded a hip hop album with a friend under the name "The Third Estate." It's on CD Baby and iTunes, and we have a myspace page up (one of my top few friends) We've done about 10 songs and are working on some new material (and getting better recording gear!)"
