40-SOMETHING, MUSIC WORLD VIEW.

About Me

Back in 1978, whilst we were busy at school with our O-Levels (!!!!!) Deano and I, with some good friends, decided to set up a music fanzine. Probably before music fanzines were invented!

It grew to a massive circulation of 12. Our XTC/punk loving, English teacher, Mr Salt was even on the mailing list.

We wrote about the best music around. Which was to us, at the time, Heavy Metal. It was an exciting time as the New Wave of British Heavy Metal had just arrived. We also liked some punk bands and disliked comercial music of the time such as ABBA.

Time moves on and music changes. We still enjoy the old stuff but there is also some top quality new stuff. So now, over 25 years later we have given the JODM a resurrection.

As interested 40-somethings we feel we can "....love the old and enjoy the new!"

That's why we are here in this bit of cyperspace. Enjoy!!

IF YOU LIKE THE J.O.D.M. (...ARE OVER 40!) AND WANT TO CONTRIBUTE, PLEASE DO SO VIA MY-SPACE E-MAIL.&nbsp

Sounds Like:

SOUNDS THE J.O.D.M. LIKES........

UNKLE - Burn My Shadow
Well....James Lavelle & UNKLE; the modern day inheritors of the KLF legacy! Dance fused with David Lynch graphics. Darkside music at its very best!!.

BATTLES
Read a lot of praise for this band and was well pleased that they lived up to the hype. Top track with driving rhythm which sounds a bit like the end of Thin Lizzy's Do Anything You Want To Do!!!!.

BRMC - WEAPON OF CHOICE
After a bit of acoustic navel gazing - BRMC are back doing what they do best. Get your air guitar slung low and enjoy!!!!.

THE WHITE STRIPES _ ICKY THUMP
By far and away the most original rock band in the world. Icky Thump is awesome, driving riff with all sorts of stuff overlaying that riff. Jack & Meg have done it again; repeated their blues rock base but taken it to another level. Brilliant!!.

THE BEES - LISTENING MAN
Well funky track with early 60's feel. These guys are going to go down a storm at Glasto!!!
THE ALIENS - SETTING SUN.

5 star music in anyone's book. Enjoy!!!
