I've recently bought or re-read: ....The Last True Story I'll Ever Tell - depressing/compelling contemporary war memoir....Dr. Tatiana's Sex Advice to All Creation - red hawt evolutionary biology - RAWR!....The Revolution Will Be Accessorized - hipster snippets - Douglas Coupland = swoonage....Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell - f'g impenetrable and indefinitely shelved after having muddled thru 1/8th....The Rabbi's Cat - words, pictures, Jews! Yay! LOVE it!....The End Of Faith - just bought it, but it came highly recommended by a similarly athiestic (tho far brainier) friend. I have a good feeling about this one....Weirdo Deluxe - bios and, more importantly, images done by some of my fave lo-brow artists. Aw yeah!....Erotica 20th Century - well, I knew that Egon Schiele + Klimt + Picasso were naughty lil arteests but who are the rest of these guys? Haha! Taschen, a compiler of various artistic movements into handy, compact paperbacks, has found its way to the creamy underbelly!....The End Of Poverty - we'll see about this one. Billed as a hopeful treatise as to the "economic possibilities of our time," I have the feeling it will be liklier to render me admiring of the author (a doer as well as a writer) than quash my cynicism...
