Reading, writing, talking, laughing, music, baseball, live theater, musicals, concerts, politics, eating out, work, board games, dominoes, church, choir, talking with children, walking on the beach when the tide is going out. My interests range runs the gamut. I really think it's more about connecting with people and enjoying who you are with, more than what you are doing. I like to have fun but, for me, that can be doing almost anything, or nearly nothing at all.
I like meeting people who share my interests and values, but knowing we can only grow by stetching, I'm always open to meet new people with different backgounds to learn what makes them tick. I am grounded both spiritually and politically. I know where I stand on issues that are important to me, but that's not to say I know everything. I admire people who stand up for what they believe in, even if their opinions differ from mine. I would like to meet positve thinking people who are generally happy with themselves.
I enjoy all kinds of music; everything from Christian to Beethoven to Euphoria's Dragon to Lester Flat and Earl Scruggs. Music is an expression of the soul. Having been raised in the Southern Gospel Convention in the 40's and 50's, I was introduced to music, while still in my mother's womb. I love it. I don't sing because I'm happy, I'm happy because I sing. Music can set or change a mood. It can cause your spirit to soar, or it can lull you to sleep. It can brighten a gloomy day, or cast shadows on a sunny afternoon. Music is powerful.
28 Days, When A Man Loves A Woman, Sabrina, The Pelican Brief, Air Force One, The Client, Glory; anything with a good story line. If there is a story there, I can get into it.
Fox News, Frazier, Wheel of Fortune, Everybody Loves Raymond, Book Reviews, Hallmark movies and the family channel, although a good mystery will draw my attention, also.
Blood and Money, Dereliction of Duty, The Da Vince Code, The Transformation, Centennial, Debt of Honor, Cracking the Millionaire Code, Multiple Streams of Income, and so many more. I learned at an early age that I could be transported in time and space through the written word so, although I've never been out of the south, I have traveled around the world through books.
I guess my first hero was my daddy. I thought he hung the moon. I don't remember ever thinking of celebraties or sports figures as hero's. I always wanted to be like my brother. He was/is one that everybody likes to be around. He has a knack for making people feel good about themselves. I would like to possess my mother's wisdom, my sister's personality and drive, my grandmother's sweetness, and my children's loyalty.
