I am here for Friends

About Me

You can't possibly expect me to tell you about myself in this small space without rambling on and on. So if you want to know specifics, you'll have to ask. The most important thing to me is my relationship with God (notice I said "relationship" and not "my religion"...big difference). Then comes my marriage to my wonderful husband who I wouldn't trade for anything in the world. Next comes my beautiful little girl who is a treasure and the source of much joy (and a little bit of aggravation). Last but not least, my family and friends who I love dearly. I'm also a huge fan of music and food.

My Interests

Outdoor madness....music....art...camping...people watching...snuggling...reading till my eyes close on their own...fall leaves...spring flowers...writing poetry...guacamole... harassing people (in good fun, of course)...road trips to anywhere...going downtown occasionally...ice cream...roller coasters...college football...White Sox baseball...candles in the twilight hours...learning...sniffing flowers...petting animals (especially cats)...listening to birds sing...watching chipmunks do what they do... watching sports like skateboarding, surfing, motocross/supercross, and BMX...getting my butt driven all over the state of Wisconsin by my husband...eating cake...soy milk...organic food...all natural beauty products and toiletries...pure maple syrup made by my husband and brother-in-law...venison...fresh caught fish...going to church...nerding around...being a SAHM...starry nights...cookies...chocolate...puzzling (word and number puzzles as well as jigsaw)...hanging out on the computer...biking...etc.

I'd like to meet:

People who are real. Long lost friends.

Music:

U2 is my favorite band. I like a little bit of all types of music. Pick almost any band out there and chances are I like at least one of their songs. I LOVE MUSIC but I refuse to "subscribe" to any particular scene. Here are my favorites from each genre: Country: Sara Evans, Randy Travis, Travis Tritt....Classic Rock: Aerosmith, Led Zep, Journey, Rolling Stones.....Jam Bands: Grateful Dead, Phish, Rusted Root.....World Music: Mickey Hart, Ravi Shankar....Rock: Stavesacre,Creed, Lifehouse, Scott Stapp, Nickleback....80's pop: Madonna, Depeche Mode, The Cure, A-Ha....80's metal: Def Lep, Bon Jovi, Cinderella, Stryper, Skid Row...Bluegrass: Old Crow Medicine Show, Allison Krauss....Worship: David Crowder Band, Passion Band (and all those guy's solo projects)....Contemporary Christian: Jars of Clay, Newsboys, Jennifer Knapp....Electronica/Trance: Ferry Corsten, Sheltershed, Apt Core....A few others worth mentioning: P.O.D., early Project 86, Beastie Boys, old Ween stuff is hilarious and brings back memories, Peter Gabriel, John Cougar Mellencamp, REM, Duran Duran, Pat Benetar, Bangles, Go Go's, The Clash, The Pretenders, Afro Celt Sound System, etc. I'm done thinking for now.
Your Theme Song is Beautiful Day by U2
"Sky falls, you feel like
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away"

You see the beauty in life, especially in ordinary everyday moments.
And if you're feeling down, even that seems a little beautiful too. What's Your Theme Song?

Movies:

I like a lot of movies but the best ones are the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the Star Wars saga, The Prince of Egypt (animated), The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (Narnia), Harry Potter (all), Napoleon Dynamite, The Royal Tennenbaums, Ocean's Eleven, The Breakfast Club, Pretty In Pink, Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, both Toy Story movies, A Bug's Life, O' Brother Where Art Thou, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Which LOTR Character are you?
You are Legolas! You're very intellegent and quick to act. Since you're an elf, you're immortal and never age, but you can be killed. You're light as a feather and your race is a little stuck-up.

Television:

That '70's Show, Gilmore Girls, Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?, Deal or No Deal, The Brady Bunch, M*A*S*H, The Honeymooners, The Food Network, the Travel Channel, and TLC. For some reason I like Rock of Love even though Bret Michaels is a dirtbag.

Books:

The Bible. Chronicles of Narnia (C.S. Lewis). Flabbergasted, Delirious Summer, Lost in Rooville (Ray Blackston). Simplicity (Mark Salomon). Four Souls (Matt Kronberg - Jedd Medefind - Mike Peterson - Trey Sklar). The Long Walk ( Slavomir Rawicz) etc. I love books and I could go on and on with this list but I won't.

Heroes:

Jesus Christ. Many of the men and women of the Bible and anyone who is willing to die for what they believe....like missionaries and soldiers, for example. Moms...especially single moms and moms who have raised a whole "tribe" of kids (like my mother-in-law).

My Blog
