Carter, Lego, Deee-Lite, Shakira, Busta Rhymes, Aaliyah (R.I.P.), Biggie Smalls (R.I.P.), Scissor Sisters, Kelly Clarkson... is that it? NOPE - REAL Chicago house music (birthplace of house).
I can't even get enough of house music - my favorite is deep house music from Chicago. The hyped-up, get-on-the-floor, sweat-'til-you're-dehydrated, pump-a-boo, feel-it-in-your-soul house music that my sister Jamie introduced me to LOOOONG ago.
I don't like trance. Yuck. It reminds me of those Lincoln Park Nasties and wannabes who go to the clubs in 2007 with glow sticks, asking where you can get some good "e", thinking that they're still "in" with their gross polyester stretchy pants & baby tees (girls) and untucked button-up shirts, PLEATED khakis & brown klunky shoes (boys).
I like a lot of world music, too.
Movies:
Favorite of all time: Napoleon Dynamite, Amelie, and The Incredibles; Foreign and Indie Films - yes, I am that wanna-be artsy fartsy dude... but they're a lot more interesting to me. Anything with Gael Garcia Bernal... Oh yeah... ANGELS IN AMERICA.
I just saw Little Miss Sunshine, and it was adorable.
I don't really watch a lot of movies, to tell you the truth, and each year, I vow that I will, but I never do. #1: I can't justify spending that kind of money at the theater.
#2: I'm too busy-body at home, just to sit and relax and watch a movie.
#3: I have no one to snuggle up on the couch with while watching said movie. I know... boo hoo for Jay.
Television:
I really only make time to watch 2 shows: Ugly Betty and America's Next Top Model (ANTM). And, now they're over for the season. :( Boo hoo. GO JASLENE - represent Chi-town.

Haven't read a good book in a while!! My favorite magazines: New Yorker, Blender, The Economist, Real Simple, Time Out Chicago, pretty much any fashion magazine.
Heroes:
