I have been writing for years. Not always to the glory of God, because I wasnt always living for the glory of God. I couldnt, for I was once carnally minded (spiritually dead; not saved).
In 2003, though, I was divinely made alive with Christ, by the power of the gospel and the Holy Spirit, and, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come." 2 Corinthians 5:17. New things also included my poetry writings. Because given a new mind and Spirit, by grace through faith - both of which are gifts from God, lest any man should boast - the topics of my poems were made to reflect Him.
I rarely shared any of the pieces written, but my family, the Lucas' and Briscoes' continually pushed me to stand and use the writings to edify other people. Reluctant for many months, I guess it had to take someone calling me out in front of a congregation to come forward and recite "A Church Divided."
From then on, I took some public invitations at various church events, taking the opportunity to not only share my words, His Word, but using it as an avenue to reach other people (lost souls and believers), and to learn myself from other people, build relationships, and sharpen iron with.
Who knows what will happen next?
