About Me

NEW ALBUM OUT NOW
Since 1981 The Brain People have regularly not practiced, shown up for gigs and in most ways not acted like a band. There have been many bands who have claimed that the "can't play" in order to fit within some hypster primitivism movemnt such as Punk, we are the real thing, for better or worse.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: brainpeople.com
Band Members: Tommy DOG: bass, guitar, electronics and overdubs.

Leon Mushroom: guitar, horn

Col. Plague Monkey: drums, suitcase organ

* vocals are handled in the order and manner in which we see fit. *
Influences: Our interests when we started in 1981 where pretty desparete. Some of the bands that I could relate to in different ways were:

Sex Pistols, Suicide, Rudimentary Peni, Parliament-Funkadelic, The Beatles, Fear, Flipper, Velvet Underground, Stooges, Germs, The Mothers Of Invention, Plasmatics and so many others.

The period between 1978 and 1983 was very exciting. There were no rules and The Brain People were molding and formenting at a time when anything was possible.
Sounds Like: Depends on the day, the session, the record. Sounds like a moody record collection reinacted by angry deaf children.
Record Label: http://www.sodrecords.com
Type of Label: Indie
