Rest In Peace Rami & Nass. I Love You Both. xx

About Me

I am a 17 year old singer from North West London and I have been singing since I was about 9 years old but have loved music my whole life! I only took it up seriously in September 2006 when my dad helped me to realise my ambitions of a career within the music industry. I currently sing and write my own music. In order to be successful in the industry, you need to have a positive, confident attitude and I intend to do so throughout my musical life.Having always had a creative spark, the music that I write is not necessarily what you would be used to hearing. I try to write from my heart and incorperate real feelings into my lyrics, so if you are interested in collaborations I will only be willing to work with you if you have something great or different to offer! Remember... Just message me! I will get back to you as soon as I see it and hopefully we can take it from there...Apologies for the lack of music on my profile, at the moment, after taking a break in order to try and pass my GCSE's (which I did, with flying colours might I add!) I am back to focusing on my music and channeling my creativity! There will be some new music up real soon, so, sorry for the wait! I am trying to make sure that every peice of music I create sounds as good as it can! I am currently at Vocaltech of the Tech Music Schools based in Acton, London where I am enrolled in a one year diploma in vocal performance. There I am studying voice production, contemporary and classic styles, ensemble, harmony and theory, song writing, accompaniment, stage techniques, sight singing, aural skills and also how to play a second instrument (in this case - keyboard). In addition to this we are regularly assessed in a weekly live performance workshop and learn from some of the best in the industry!

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: youtube.com/liyaofficial
Band Members: I am a solo artist.
Influences: Artists like Alicia Keys really inspired me, being from a mixed background like me she was something I aspired to be like, at the moment I think Ny is doing it, she has a different sound and I like that. I am quite significantly influenced by the music I grew up hearing, such as artists like Angie Stone, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, but then there are also a lot of newer artists out there that unknowingly contribute to my creativity! I try and draw inspiration from every aspect of life! Also, I am Influenced not so much musically but more inspirationally by my dad, he helped me to realise my life long ambitions, he gave me the confidence, drive and determination to do what I want and succeed at it and he has been nothing but supportive and encouraging at every step of my journey so far!
Sounds Like: Really I just sound like myself, there have been comparisons to various different artists but I would not say that I really sound like anyone in particular.
Record Label: None at the moment
Type of Label: None
