When I was young I served as an infantryman in the Russo-Japanese War. I also fought pirates and bandits in Mongolia.
After all this fighting I mastered dozens of martial arts, and went on to teach at an elite military academy in Japan.
But all this war and fighting and corruption troubled me, so I started myself on a spiritual quest, which included three profound visions.
The first in 1925, when I was only 42 years old.
I had just defeated a great swordsman, and walked away from the fight uninjured. To relax I took a stroll in the garden when suddenly the ground began to shake. I was engulfed by Golden Vapor that came from the fissures appearing. I became gold myself, and felt light as a feather, and was gifted with the realization for all existance, and the purpose of the Warrior.
"The Way of the Warrior is to manifest Divine Love, a spirit that embraces and nurtures all things."
I suddenly loved everything, my face was quickly coated in tears of gratitude, and I felt the entire earth as my home, every human my own brother or sister. I lost all attachment to anything material.
My second realization was during a regular ritual purification. I forgot all of the martial art teachings ever learned, and I learned them anew. They were no longer methods to pin and destroy, but to cultivate life, knowledge, love, and good sense.
My third realization was during the worst time of World War II, one of the darkest periods of human history. I saw the path to Great Peace, a path that would end the suffering of everyone by ending violence. So i finally secluded myself to finish my new Art, the Art of Love.
I emerged with a gift to all mankind, Aikido.
