YONDIE MURRAY- R.I.P Grandma.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica and raised in St. Elizabeth ,Jamaica, BlackIndie have always been a focused and determined individual. Accomplishing all that is worth ‘going for’. Born to Jamaican parents (Jamaican mother, Indian father, hence the combined stage name) she stands at 5”6 tall, medium build, with hazel eyes and long black hair.

BlackIndie spent most of her childhood days living in St.Elizabeth, South of Jamaica, with her grandmother. Living life in the simplest form, just how she liked it. She relocated to the UK at the age of 10 to be with her mother. In 1996 she attended primary school for a short period of time. Began secondary school (high school) in 1996 at St. Martin-in-the –Fields High School for Girls, where she left with 11GCSE’s (relevant grades were passed).She then began furthering her education at John Ruskin College, Selsdon, Croydon in 2001. Here she furthered her drawing skills in Art& Graphic Design. She also studied Media Studies as a third A-level subject.During her college years she was in the top twenty for Miss Jamaica UK(forfitted competition due to personal circumstances) She began working for the UK Government in 2003. She still holds this position. “She is an effective and efficient, valued team member”- Sharon Guthrie (Work Manager) I guess that sums it all up for questions regarding her work.BlackIndie never really dreamt of becoming a model. However being approached over and over again was a sure sign that it “may just work”. She travelled to Miami, Florida in 2005 and decided to further this ‘dream’ after being approached by a number of modelling agencies, whilst in the United States. She proceed by calling modelling agencies, regarding the requirements on new faces and was rejected 14times, due to height restrictions. Agencies were looking for 5”7 and above. Although the rejection was continuous, BlackIndie persisted. She attended castings and launches. She was approached by Juice Black(producer) and was invited to participate in her first music video in 2006....to be continued
