Hello let me introduce my self! My name is David L. Valencia, Senior Instructor at Industry Sheriffs Judo dojo and aspiring pastry chef. A little about me, I have the Greatest Girlfriend in the world who I going to marry soon. I graduated from the Le Cordon Bleu Pastry and baking program from the California School of Culinary Arts, Pasadena, Class of July 2007. It was a life long dream for me to become a pastry chef, and now it's gettting closer. In order for me to acomplish my dream I have to open my own bakery to run things my way!
The other thing that I love is the martial arts, Judo, BJJ, Karate, MMA. I am no longer active competitior but I have a very successful coaching carrer. I love to watch Pride, UFC and Elite XC. I am working on my third degree black belt in Judo.
Most people don't know how to say my screen name so here is the way to say it and what they mean!
Inago (e-nah-go) which in Japanese is "Grasshopper!" When I was lil my mom would call me her little grasshopper because of an old tv show called "Kung Fu" that Bruce Lee came up with but David Caraden stold. The young boy in the show lived in the Shao Lin Temples in China. The master would tell him to do something but before he could finish his instructions, Grasshopper would run off with only half the instructions and always need to come back for more instruction.
My mom would tell me something and I would make a mistake and she would ask me, "When are you going to learn 'Grasshopper'?" That name really fit when I started Judo!
But that is only part of the reason that I have the name, the other part has to do with my Native American heritage, we have what is called "Totem" or "Symbol" and it is a repentaion of what your personality is. For me my totem came to me young, it was the Grasshopper. Because a grasshopper will move around to place where he feels safe and comfortable.
