About Me

Hi everyone, my name is Tom!
I am quite a spiritual and passionate guy, especially when it comes to playing music. I totally love my instrument, the electric bass. I have been making my living as a bassplayer for many years now, in a variety of different musical circumstances and genres. It is a true blessing and I am greatful for it everyday! My work can include situations like: TV/theatre/musicals, festivals, clubs, weddings, studiosessions or backing up artists etc.
Most of my work is freelance based and have included collaborations with artists such as e.g. Carola, Niclas Wahlgren, Janne Schaffer, Jojje Wadenius, Jan Tolf (R.I.P.), Måns Zelmerlöv, Jill Johnson, Wille Craaford, Shirley Clamp, Daddy Boastin, Agnes, Papa Dee, Tommy Nilsson, Titiyo, Victoria Tolstoy, Gladys Del Pilar, Sara Löfgren, Jimmy Jansson, Bebo Valdes, Stefan Andersson, Jan Johansen, Martin Stenmarck...
Also, I am involved with some projects on a more solid base, e.g. the very well acclaimed ABBA tribute-band ”Waterloo”, where I have been a steady member for the last 9 years. The band is the foundation of a big production called ”ABBA The Show”, with parts of the National Symphony Orchestra from London and some of the actual musicians that participated on the original ABBA recordings and toured with them during the 70s. The show is a huge success worldwide and has for instance been touring regularly in the US (the tour of 2004 started out at the soldout Hollywood Bowl Arena in LA). Among other well received tours can be mentioned the ones in Thailand, Vietnam, India, Spain, Germany, Scandinavia. Sept 26 we had an amazingly successful soldout (!) show at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London. It really was one of the most exiting gigs in my career. Wow, what a fantastic crowd!
I am truly greatful for these kind of experiences along the path that constitutes my life...
Also a Japan-tour is coming up in december... I am of course looking forward to that as well.
One of my own projects is called ”The Roots Of Funk”. A musical journey sort of, where I try to take the audience back to the origins of funk, both musically and soundwise. (check the audio in the mp3-player).
It has developed to be a kind of "music-collective", appearing in different lineups from time to time. I have for instance done "A 70s Tribute" on several occasions with a 17 piece band (!) totally firing up the FUNK of the decade! We played several sold out nights at jazzclub Fasching in Stockholm, private partys and also at "Sandviken Jazzfestival" for instance. Another lineup that sprung from the idea was "The Herbie Hancock Headhunters Experience" (www.myspace.com/herbiehancockexperience).
There has also been a project called "The 80s FUNK experience!" wich re-lived that, too often underestimated, superfunky syntheziser-decade to life! I simply loved to play those funky basslines (especially since there is also alot of synthbass-playing hehe) by e.g. ZAPP, Cameo, Prince, The Time etc infront of the dancing audience. =)

My Interests

living life to the fullest, playing bass, chilling with Ronja (my little dog), esoteric reading, pondering, watching movies, blogging, meditation, kundalini-yoga, food, wellbeing, LOVE, breathing air, having my daily cappuccino, kindness, taking long walks, citylife, countrylife, travelling, listening etc etc

Always stay true to yourself and be honest! I believe it will always be worth it in the end...

I'd like to meet:

intelligent, "down to earth" and honest people, not too lost in today..s society..s total fixation on matter and the shallowness that comes with it... =)
We seek to be confirmed as individuals through posessions, fame, media, money, career etc. That tends too many times to lead us away from our true beings and the true creative spirit we all bear inside. We get lost easily and there are alot of things going on in the world that proves that. But it doesn..t have to be that way. We need to find the way back, to who we really are...inside, beyond the surface, all that material stuff that doesn..t mean a didley squat in the end.

Music:

1. Knock Yourself Out (live)
2. More Bounce To The Ounce (live)
3. Open Up Your Mind (live)
4. Hair (live)
5. Honey From The Jar (live)
6. Do You Know (w Carola)
7. Ingen Hittar Oss Här (Johan C)

Movies:

Directors:
Sally Potter, Wim Wenders, Peter Greenway, Jim Jarmush, David Lynch, Julio Medem, Pedro Aldomovar, Woody Allen, Tim Burton, Mike Leigh

Television:

LOST, Curb your enthusiasm, The Office, Frasier, Seinfeld, Hipp Hipp (swedish humorshow), Documentarys, Musicrelated programs, Fleksnes, 2 1/2 men, Black Adder, The Young Ones, Bottom, Arrested Development, Kyle XY, House, Heroes etc

Books:

There are so many...
Siddharta, Jonathan Livingstone Seagull, The Way Of The Peaceful Warrior, The Power Of Silence, The Alchemist, Initiation, The Power Of Now, Den Som Vandrar Om Natten, Autobiography Of A Yogi, The Notebooks Of Paul Brunton and many, many more...

Mainly I read books most people would categorize as "New Age" although I..m not a fan of that expression...it..s so worn out, in a wrong kind of way. But anyway, all subjects concerning selfobservation is interesting to me. Mindfulness and pondering over relevant issues that concerns our happiness and wellbeing, may it be food, sports, nature, quantum physics, philosophy, religion etc. I don..t mind. I have never been intrested in genre-thinking...all the -isms that we make up as human beings. The constant urge to label everything just creates more isolation and difficulties to see the wholeness of creation. Boundaries have only added to the problems of the world!

Heroes:

Mom!
Those with the compassion to give of themselves...
Those who have love in their hearts and who dare to show it. a href="http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vbXlzcGFjZS5jb20vY2 9udGFjdHRhYmxlcw==" style="position:absolute; top:0px; left:0px; height:90px; width:150px; background-image:url(http://c.myspace.com/
