Freakin' Bios:******************************************************* ****Kenny Sargent-What? Me worry? Five of many adventures, all under 13 years old, that seeded SpeedFreaks.I put death grips on loose handle bars while attempting cross-ups on my make shift Huffy. I sported some spiffy denim leathers and waffle stompers on a YZ80 while racing cross country. Standing with mom with my jaw dropped, I saw Evil Knievel on a three wheeler strapped to a rocket engine. I got a stiff left in the gut from a girl after we fought over a drumstick from 3 Dog Night's drummer. And, I was caught by the old man checking out Cha Cha Muldowney in her silver fire suit pants and pink turtleneck top (sans the bra). She was Boom Boom Muldowney to me. Man they were perky. We've gone from one radio station, one mic, one ball on Lugg to the largest motorsports radio and television show of its kind in the world. We've created something so unique, no one has attempted to mirror. And Air America is Bankrupt.Pretty damn good business model we've created and all without an orifice ring toss. Don't need to be Stern.Sponsors have latched on to this Speed Train and continue to sleep First Class from depot to depot. Lucas Oil to Budweiser to Toyo Tires, they've been the insulin of this Freak of Nature from the get go. American Racing Wheels, HeadBlade, JEGS, Mazda, Mac Tools, Eastwood Insurance, Mopar and many more continue to prop up the 9mm of motorsports.Stations like 105.3 Free FM in Dallas, 97.1 Free FM in Detroit, XTRA Sports 910 in Phoenix, Spike 1140 in Vegas and 710 ESPN in Los Angeles have all been suppliers of the Freaks Radio message for years. Gavin Spittle, Craig Schwab and Larry Gifford have programmed lights out on their multi-potted boards to keep the Freaks colors flying. Props to the posse.SpeedFreaks' own Lugg, Statt, Crash, FFF, Francois, Zebra and Juan Pablo Wheels are six of the most gregarious, tilted, rebellious and wild cats ever assembled. We're like that last bite you save of your double-double or Thanksgiving dinner when you mop up with your buttered roll. De-Freakin-licious, bitch. Our fans? Please. We're their fans. Beverly Hills Jail Steve, Hippy Jeff, Ronnie, Champ Car Fan and legions of "don't give ME a Freakin' nickname" supporters have subscribed to the Freaks services for a Dog Year.Do you like underground? Lou Reed, TV On The Radio (stunning band), Stevie Ray Vaughan and Drifting? They were all underground at one time. And really, they still are. I can safely say SpeedFreaks still is.If you dig two wheels, four wheels or things that go bump in the night, we are for you. You'll hear the biggest names in motorsports, music and entertainment pitch a tent with what many critics have called the Motorsports Empire known as SpeedFreaks. Did I hear a bear?Hell, Mario Andretti says we're the only group that could carry his jock strap. I would too, even after a 500 miler stock car race in August at Talladega or after a win at 12 Hours of Sebring. That Freak you out? Then you are not for us.You like the fresh smell of an automobile ass kicking? Do you dig the balls to step up and flash your 'tatted' bicep in the face of the old motorsports grandpappys? Then we are for you.I invite you and you and you to come play in the Freak Nation. Fun time is either Sunday nights on the Freak Radio Network or Saturday on ESPN2. It's all right here at www.SpeedFreaks.TV****************************************** *****************Crash Gladys -From crawling at the Speedway Day Care Center to coordinating my High School Senior Skip Day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to buttin’ heads with the current ‘pink shirts’ of racing, I was born to do this job. I’m a very opinionated chic who loves her motorsports. And yeah, I’m a blabber mouth, too. At times on the show, I can’t stand the boys talking over me… Hello!! I’m here, too!! … But no fretting here because I can definitely hold my own.I’m Crash Gladys, the only female on the national radio & TV show, SpeedFreaks. Single? Yes. Can you date me? No… unless you can get past my 3 bodyguards – Kenny Sargent, Lugg Nuttz and Statt Mann Caruthers… also known as my co-hosts.We talk all motorsports… IndyCars to Drags to Jet Skiing to Motocross, Sports Cars, Drifting, Snowmobiling, NASCAR, F1, Rally, Offshore Boats, Hill Climbs, Lawn Mowers, MotoGP, Dakar, Sport Compacts and more!My favorite? That’s easy… I practically grew up in the infield of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway… so all open wheel would be the answer. My peeve? People thinking the world runs on NASCAR… puh-lease, there is SO much more variety and drama out there… just hop into the Freak Nation to find out. We’re the only show on the planet that provides you with the full insight to ALL racing series week in and week out.Don’t get me wrong, though… there is some fun drama that occurs in the NASCAR world, and damn there are some incredible drivers there, too. I would be more interested in the series (Cup in particular) if the races were shorter and the season was shorter. I believe no track should host a second date, I would like to see the drivers having more of a life and I think that some of their events should be more IndyCar style… a sprint rather than a drawn out endurance race. Give me 300 milers any day and get rid of the 500’s (except the big 2: Daytona and Charlotte)So my favorite NASCAR Series? The Trucks for sure… all out sprint races, beatin’ and bangin’ from the green to the checkered… no sand baggin’ and no holds barred! And the motorsports stars with the biggest set of cajones? In my opinion? Anything 2-wheeled… no HANS device, 200+ mph with no seatbelt, no roll cages and continuously flirting with disaster… have you seen Superbikes or Drag Bikes to know what I am talkin’ about? You must… go find it now and I promise you’ll be hooked! And the best drivers in the world? In my opinion? Rally… hands down. No one else races on snow, ice, over cliffs, across boulders, sand, dirt, asphalt, salt, uphill, downhill, purposely airborne, left, right, hairpin, etc, etc, etc. And that’s hard to say at times for a born and bred open wheel diva who cherishes the many surface types raced in Champ Car and the IRL: Street Courses, Road Courses, Superspeedways and Short Ovals. Love the diversity! But I digress… let’s get back to how I got to Southern California and how in the heck I could leave my beloved Indianapolis, IN. It’s a long story and I can get into it later, but bottom line is that I was 26 years old and already I needed a change of pace. I had been involved in motorsports in one way or another most of my life. I loved working with teams, coordinating the details of hospitality and travel and helping foster sponsorships, but was that really for me?The ultra spontaneous side of me put together my relocation in a matter of weeks and I was off… I thought it would be fun to up and leave and become an actress in Hollywood (enter hysterical laughter here). BUT, one of my last auditions before I was gonna hang up my SAG Card and head back to Indy to look for another racing job, was SpeedFreaks. Holy cow, it was a God-send. SpeedFreaks combines my need to express my high drama side with my racing love. What? Me a Drama Queen? I am that… absolutely! Racing Freak? Don’t even try to argue me on that one. There is only one downside to living in SoCal, however. It just stinks not being able to jet ski or boat out to the sand bar for Happy Hour at the summer lake house like I used to do… there just aren’t any recreational-residential lakes within hours of LA! And the ocean is a bit cold for me (wimp). But the mountains and 350 days of sunshine outweigh any of that. Camping, motorcycle riding, hiking, biking, warm weather and some incredible views keep me quite content (provided I make it back for a lake adventure in Indiana at least once per year). Now I could go on and on, but let’s just wrap up with some of the questions I have been asked over the years at SpeedFreaks… I love hearing from our viewers/listeners and have put these bits together based on emails from you, The Freak Nation... those oh so intriguing questions you enquiring SpeedFreak minds want to know. And if these just don’t cut it, then feel free to contact me with more! www.SpeedFreaks.TVMusic in My iPod: Jimmy Buffett, Tom Petty, Sheryl Crow, Pink, Eminem, Kid Rock, The Eagles, Kelly Clarkson, John Mellencamp, O.A.R., Van Halen, U2, Def Leppard, Pink Floyd, Coldplay, Enya, The CarsMovies That Put Me in a Better Mood: Meet the Parents, Wedding Crashers, Cocktail (yeah, I know), Borat, Swingers, Talladega Nights, 40 Year Old Virgin, Vacation, Along Came Polly, Top Secret, CaddyshackOther Favorite Movies: Forrest Gump, The Green Mile, Go, Heat, The Departed, Pretty Woman, Crash, Walk the Line, Anchorman, A Beautiful Mind, American Pie, Goodfellas, Elf, The Doors, Mona Lisa Smile, St. Elmo’s Fire, Less Than ZeroMy Sappy/Girly Side: The Notebook, Up Close and Personal, The Family Stone, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Miss Congeniality, Charlie’s Angels, Homeward Bound, Cold Mountain, Sleepless in SeattleOn My DVR Each Week: Nip/ Tuck, Dirt, 24, Entourage, Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters, My Name is Earl, The Office, House, ER, Grey’s Anatomy, The Apprentice and workout shows from Fit TV… Do I ever watch them all with my crazy travel schedule? He's been a racing fan ever since.Along the way he found time to win awards as a television producer, an international motorsports journalist, a rally car driver, and an all-around goodfella and Dad. He graduated from Proletariat Technical College and Drive-Thru in Los Angeles before many of you were born. Can you say Kent State Shooting? He even remembers where he was when he heard that Medgar Evers, Malcolm X, Martin King and John and Bobby Kennedy were shot. Do you? He's probably the only man in history who has: raced his Suzuki motorcycle at 135 MPH outside the Michael Jackson Neverland Ranch in Santa Ynez, California; raced his Triumph motorcycle at 110 MPH on the Angeles Crest Highway, covered the 1000 Lakes Rally in Finland, The RAC Rally in England, and a CART race in Phoenix for ESPN, raced in a One Lap of America Rally as part of a factory supported team, interviewed Roger Penske, been a part of The Los Angeles County Street Racers led by Big Willie Robinson, and responded to a television studio camera tally light, up to now. That makes him unique, and a SpeedFreak.
