McGillin's Olde Ale House is the oldest, continuously operating tavern in Philadelphia, now celebrating its 147th year in business. It opened in 1860 and has been serving patrons ever since - even thru the prohibition years.

Mark's Journey of Inspiration -- Bartender Mark Biscone is hiking up Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise money for cancer research. The climb is about bringing hope and a celebration of life to those struggling with a difficult journey.

St. Practice Daze– A month-long series of events. Nip at authentic Beamish Irish Stout, Seamus Irish Red & O’Reilly’s Irish Stout by Sly Fox Brewery in Phoenixville while you wait for the green beer. And fill your belly with our hearty Irish menu featuring Bangers & Mashed (Irish sausage and mashed potatoes), Shepherd’s Pie, Irish Lamb Stew and Corned Beef with Cabbage. And more...
* St. Practice Daze – Fri, Feb. 15 & Sat, Feb. 16 – Live Irish music by those Bad Boys from Boston – Patsy & John. $2 cover.
* St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Sun, March 9 from 12 – 3:30 p.m. The route goes right down S. Broad Street – just steps from McGillin’s.
* Erin Express Pub Crawl – On Sat, March 15. No crawl is complete without a stop at the city’s best Irish tavern -- McGillin’s!
* St. Patrick’s Day – Mon, March 17 -- Green beer will be flowing. Irish music will be thumping. Watch for shamrocks, leprechauns and more. Doors open at 11 a.m. & don't close until 2 a.m. $2 cover after 2 p.m.
Philadelphia Flower Show -- To celebrate the 2008 Philadelphia Flower Show theme, “Jazz It Up,” we're doing a tribute to New Orleans, March 2 – 9. Watch for Cajun menu and jazz-themed karaoke (March 5,7,9). Plus, flower themed beers and cocktails. The Flower Show is held at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, located just blocks from McGillin’s.
Philadelphia Beer Week – We have 4 events planned for this first time event.
* Meet & Greet with Victory Brewing Company on Monday, March 10. Local microbrew started by two childhood friends on the back of a school bus and now serving full flavored beer in 22 states. No cover.
* Tales, Tastes & Toasts with Carol Stoudt and the crew from Stoudts Brewery, on Tuesday, March 11. We’ll be pouring our McGillin’s Real Ale & Genuine Lager plus other specialty brews. McGillin’s serves more Stoudts draft beer than any other tavern in the Commonwealth. No cover.
* Local Breweries Self-Guided Tour -- Share a pint with 7 local brewers at 8 local bars on Wednesday, March 12. About 45 minutes at each stop. Pay as you go. Afterwards, all the brewers will meet at McGillin's for a big after-party, starting at 10 p.m. Tastings from Iron Hill Vienna Lager; Flying Fish Bourbon Abbey Doubel; Troeg's Nugget Nectar; Sly Fox Seamus Red Ale; Nodding Head BPA; Dock Street Espresso Porter and Yards Thomas Jefferson Tavern Ale for $2 each. * Meet & Greet with Troegs Brewing Company on Thursday, March 13. Meet these Mechanicsburg natives who have been handcrafting world-class beers combining traditional English brewing techniques with the eclecticism of new American brewing. No cover.
