Aaliyah was a fan of the rock band "Nine inch nails". She had hoped to do a song with Trent Reznor,her idol, on her "Aaliyah" album. Unfortunetly, their schedules never came together for the project. Aaliyah was also into egpytian artifacts, she even said to have had some around her New York apartment.

Aaliyah's sound was said to have redefined the genre of R&B. Her third and latest album,"Aaliyah", showcased that. The album,"Aaliyah", went on to sell 8,000,000 copies world wide, and went to #1 on the billboard 200 chart. Her sophomore album, showcased a sensual young lady of only 17 years of age. This album was a turning point in Aaliyah's career. The album went on to sell 11,000,000 copies world wide, becoming an international success. Her first album,"Age aint nothin' but a number", was a great start for an upcoming artist. It went on to sell 5,000,000 copies world wide. Two years after Aaliyah's death, the Memorial album, "I Care 4 u", was released. It had previously unreleased music by Aaliyah and some of her greatest hits. The album hit #3 on the billboard 200 chart and went on to sell 5,000,000 copies world wide. Along with her memorial album sales, Aaliyah has sold over 30,000,000 albums according to wikipedia.
Aaliyah was in two films before her untimely death in 2001. Those films included the box office smash "Romeo Must Die". Her co-star in the film was Jet-Li. This film was her cinema debut. Her second film was the vampire novel made film "Queen of the Damned". The film was released with mixed reviews, but the film ultimately became a classic vampire film. She was also to star in The two matrix sequels, but her untimely death caused her not to appear in the films. She was also to star in the film "Honey" as the lead role.
Aaliyah appeared on "Star Search" at age 10 to perfom "My funny Valentine", a favoirte song of her mothers. Aaliyah lost the competion, but we oviously found out that winning Star Search means nothing. Aaliyah also performed on the hit nick show "All that".
Aaliyah was into the "Vampire Chronicles" by Anne Rice.
Aaliyahs brother Rashad was a hero to her. He helped her through alot of the rough times. Her whole family were heros to her. And of course her fans. Aaliyah loved her fans dearly, and dedicated all her success to them...us.
