I am 37 year woman who lives in Edinburgh. I am a socialist and a feminist and try to be active in the campaigns that interest me. I am active in the Scottish Socialist Party and saving Edinburgh's Old Town check out our website - www.eh8.orgI like all food except marmite and eggs including creme eggs.Like all types of music but don't own a mp3 or anything like that

Politics, watching rubbish telly, knitting, swimming, reading cook books, Scottish history

I'd like to meet:

As many people as I can. I did meet Worzel Gumage once when I was about 8 or 9 - the best thing that ever happened to me really :)

Music:

Don't care all that much but don't like trance music or thrash metal

Movies:

Love films. My favourite actor is Gene Kelly, love all musicals.Apart from musicals my favourite films are Volver, Cinema Paridiso, Hairdresser's Wife, Brokeback Mountain, Lawrence of Arabia, all the Back to the Futre Films and Indiana Jones films are cool. Saw Hot Fuzz and that really made me laugh. Truly Madly Deeply makes me cry

Television:

The rubbisher the better - I like Americaln Idol but hate Celebrity Big Brother and reality television. I also like documentaries about animals and geography and history type of stuff and I also like Torchwood adn Dr Who. Loved Zorro and Champion the Wonder Horse when I was wee.

Books:

Anything my Thomas Hardy, Harry Potter books, anything by Isobel Allende, loved Zorro. I like most books except from romantic books and horror. Like Ian Banks too. Also like non-fiction particularly cook books, books about women in history and historical books about anthropology and stuff like that. Just read the Red Tent and it was a great book - had a wee greet at the end

Heroes:

Don't really have any heroes. Though love Gene Kelly and two political figures who have inspired me have been Alexandra Kollontai (Russian Revolutionary, world's first woman ambassador and wrote "The Love of the Worker's Bees") and Elizabeth Gurley Flynn (American Revolutionary and IWW organsier in the early 20th Century).Oh and I suppose Wurzel Gumage!!
