Thomas: "My grandmother was a classical piano player and when I was a little boy she infiltrated me with how much power music can have and how important it can be for a fullfilled life. She paid for my first lessons and I started these when I was eight. Because of my family I had the benefit of several years of constant exposure to classical music."
At the high school it became clear that there is only one possible target for Thomas lifetime ... to became a composer. Thomas studies musicology at Humboldt-University Berlin, piano, composition and arrangement at the music college "Carl-Maria von Weber" in Dresden.
Thomas continued working as a keyboard player and programmer in various bands. In the 90s Thomas was sponsored by Yamaha Keyboards to demonstrate the capabilities of their new keyboard models such as SY99 and joined the Yamaha family as a consultant for product development. He programmed tons of sounds, pattern, loops and demo songs for Yamaha instruments.
Thomas founded his first own studio back at the mid 90s in Berlin, moved to Hamburg in 2001. The score for a Volkswagen campaign (composed 1997) could be considered as Thomas' first bigger symphonic score for orchestra. In the year 2000 the score was played by the world renowned orchestra Saechsische Staatskapelle Dresden.
After he moved to Hamburg, Thomas worked as orchestra and piano arranger for several international artists such as Sarah Connor, Mustafa Sandal, Tony Carey or Rick Astley, composed music for german TV stations, scored some commercials and now located back to Berlin.
Thomas: "I love Berlin. After all cities I have seen in the world, for me Berlin is best ... but the end of my journey is certainly not Berlin, probably Los Angeles. You've got to be where the industry is."
