JUNK

There was GG, CASH, Johnny Thunders, and Hank Williams...now, there's JUNK. One of greatest living rock and roll songwriters in America is an asshole, a menace to society as well as himself, a dangerous drunk with an ill-tempered disposition and an anti-social beautiful loser with blatant disregard for anyone who crosses his path.
WHO'S TALKIN SHIT ABOUT JUNK....
"Junk sent me a cd and it floors me how much talent this guy has. Lyrically his writing is simple yet profound. Topics ranging from suicide, childhood, booze, drugs, fucking, being broke, hell, the devil, Jesus—Life. That’s all it is. Junk has put his life on tape. They say that your ‘true self’ comes out when you’ve hit rock bottom and that’s all that’s there. Junk hasn’t created some sort of persona like lots of other artists--it’s just him. He ain’t no novelty act.
Some of his lyrics that I like are:

He’s somewhere between Tom Waits, Cash when he wasn’t sober and GG Allin when he played acoustic. junk manages to draw inspiration from many artist but yet remains original and true to his vision.
You remember that era in Cash’s career when he wondered into nickajack cave all strung out on pills? He had gone astray—he needed to find himself and his Savior again. He claimed that he saw Jesus. June Carter got him off of the drugs and booze a nd he stayed sober and got himself and his career on track.
That’s what Junk reminds me of…’cept I don’t think he’s out of the cave yet.
