About Me

Try the BEST MySpace Editor and MySpace Backgrounds at MySpace Toolbox ! Zack Fuller has danced in numerous works by Japanese dancer/choreograper Min Tanaka, appearing with him in Europe, Japan, and the United States in pieces such as Poe Project, Romance, and Morino no Monogatari (Forest Story). While often labeled as a “butoh dancer,” Fuller’s style is very much his own. Drawing on vaudeville, punk, mystic Christianity, classical mythology and gothic romance, his work has been described by the Boston Herald as “Cryptic yes, but characterized by astonishing theatricality.” His solo and group works include site-specific performance, structured improvisations and chance choreography. Fuller has collaborated with such cutting edge new music composers as Keiji Haino, Tatsuya Nakatani, Jonathan Vincent, and Katt Hernandez. He has been an artist in resident at Movement Research Research Inc. in New York City and has received support from the Movement Research Artist in Residency Project and the Joyce Mertz-Gilmore foundation. In the late 1980’s he trained with Ryszard Cieslak of the Polish laboratory theatre of Jerzy Grotowski. Prior to that he was the frontman for the DC post-hardcore/metal band Scythian and also recorded with Troubled Gardens.
