Football, all sports in general, weightlifting, music, antiques, science, travel, and doing anything except sitting at home.
I love love love Diddy's new stuff. A closet Flat Rascals fan. Found a Sarah McLaughlin song I got pretty attached to lately ;) Secretly a Justin Timberlake fan, at least for 3 songs. And my three all-time favs, Elvis Presley, Prince, and Chris Isaak. I also like the old stuff, everything from the Beatles to Aerosmith and Bon Jovi, and all the late 80's-90's hair band stuff. Speaking of Prince, have you ever been more EXCITED about a Super Bowl halftime show in your whole life???? I think not!!
Friday Night Lights, Varsity Blues, Any Given Sunday, Tommy Boy, The Saint, and probably 100 I can't remember. I love movies, but I'd rather watch them at home. Theatres smell. My sofa doesn't. Easy call.
Grey's Anatomy, CSI, Numb3rs, Bones, Law and Order, Comedy Central, and of course, ESPN when nothing else is on. Really starting to enjoy the Adult Swim stuff on Cartoon Network late at night too. Thanks Di for introducing me to this wonderful world of wackiness. :) If there is a football game at any level being televised on any channel, I'm probably watching it. High school, college, pro, powder puff, doesn't matter. I'll watch it. And if you make a movie about football, I'll buy the DVD, guaranteed. Even if it sorta stinks.
I read a lot of books, but I'll be honest. Most of the ones I have read lately really really suck. I'll let you know if I come across anything worth the paper it's printed on.
However, if you're looking for something that will really REALLY make you think, read The Selfish Gene, by Richard Dawkins. It's way over a lot of people's heads, but it's a book you'll get something new out of everytime you read it, whether you agree with his point of view or not. Remember the way The Matrix made you think, the first time you saw it? It's like that feeling, times 5.
And if you want to be completely blown away and changed forever (warning...this will really happen), read The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho. Read at your own risk. I'm telling you...it's that powerful. Possibly the best work of fiction (well, semi-fiction) ever written. You heard me. I said EVER written. Seriously. Imagine drinking an entire keg of Red Bull. That's the feeling you'll have when you put this book down. It's not long or hard to understand, just incredibly powerful.
I don't know about a hero, but Lebron is as close as I have right now. He is probably the only one of about 2 zillion overhyped athletes that's ever lived up to it. Keep proving them right Lebron. I'm a Witness.
