I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm not a bitch or anything, but it's pretty simple: fuck with my family, I break you.

I don't know how I was a real person before I had kids. I probably wasn't.

My Interests

I had a lot of stuff written here before, and I realized that probably nobody read any of it. So I'll just say "kittens" and end it here.

I'd like to meet:

People who have their shit together. You know who you are.

Music:

I try to incorporate a lot of different styles in my playlists. I tend to focus more on a particular song or album rather than an entire band or style. There are plenty of country songs I like, not because I like country in general, or because I have a loyalty to the artist, but because the SONGS are GOOD. I think music comes down to that: is the song good, or is it bad? I like good songs.

Movies:

My favorite movie changes every other week. Typically I gravitate toward crime or cop dramas, twisted stories of espionage, comic book movies, and movies with a lot of meaning and not a lot of schlock. I believe in following the director, not the actor (with a couple of exceptions), and as with music, my taste varies a lot. There are few movies I won't give a chance.

Television:

1) Stuff that makes me laugh. 2) Stuff that freaks me out or amazes me. 3) Stuff that teaches me something I didn't know before. If you can find me something that will accomplish all three, let me know and I'll stop watching everything else.

Books:

I have phases with books. Sometimes I'll be all about historical fiction romances (like Jane Austen) for a while, sometimes it'll be modern Christian apologetics. Sometimes it's sci-fi, sometimes it's memoirs and biographies.

Heroes:

Morgan Webb from G4TV and Sarah Connor from the Terminator movies. And Henry Jenkins. Look him up.

Women in the Media: A Very Long Opinion

So Jamie Lyn Spears is pregnant.  As if we needed more Spears-related drama, THIS Spears girl is 16 and the star of a popular preteen television show.  And she's keeping the baby, apparently...

An expression of my hatred

So I'm really pissed off right now, but I'm not going to talk about why, because that's just too much information for as social a networking site as MySpace has become.  I mean, frankly, there ar...

What to read when it’s Saturday afternoon and you’re bored.

Fahrenheit 451, apparently.  I haven't read the bitch in 10 years, so I pick it up again because I've been thinking about it lately, and I'll be damned if it isn't the scariest fucking book I've ...

Why I am not a writer

Just as I think everyone does at some point (yes, even you), I've long held the secret desire to write a book, publish it, and get paid to write the next one.  I never even necessarily wanted peo...
