Formed in 2004 Forest Of Vanity started by playing simple melodic death metal mostly influenced by Swedish bands like At The Gates, Dark Tranquillity and In Flames. During the summer we started with our first live performances in Na--ice and Sinj. It was a very motivating start for the band and we decided to make a new step in music and professional approach. Unfortunately our former bass player Lucca couldn't follow up the work so we found a replacement in Danijel Roguljic - Deni. In November we did our first show in our hometown Split (at club KOCKA) which turned up to be very successful. Public reaction to the band's material was great . We figured out it was time to record our first demo album...Right at the beggining of the next year we entered the "Memphis" studio in Zagreb with producer Igor Malecic and recorded six songs in 5 days (we weren't able to spend more time in Zagreb)! Immedietly we started with promotion of ''Entombed Souls'' (which was the record's name). First 100 copies were sould out surprisingly fast. We held ..1 on ''Pila Naopako'' (Croatian metal radio show) Top 5 based on Croatian demo material for few weeks. We played on Metal Melting Summing festival Warm Up with Stimulans and War-Head and got the chance to play at the festival alongside Therion, Soulfly, Amon Amarth, Rage and others. In April we were selected among 14 best Croatian metal demo bands (including Nailed, Father, Downfall...) to play at the first Croatian Metal Challenge. We also did gigs in Split and Dubrovnik with Nutellica and Forlorn Legacy. That's when things started to turn around...Metal Melting Summit got totally fucked up at the day of the show and the only headliner that showed up was Amon Amarth. We didn't even got our chance... Soon after MMS second guitar player Tomo left the band to join Vega. He was replaced by Leta (former member of Frivolous Stir). In September we were chosen to support Nile in Zagreb with Usud. We were really fired up but the headliner cancelled again (they were held on the the border for far too long). We played anyway :) We also visited Mocvara and played in front of 600 people. But after that we realized that we could not work on our new material with Leta so he had to leave the band. His departure was followed up by a big black hole which year 2006 represented for the band. No session guitarist, no rehearsals, no shows. But the work on the new material never stopped.Nowadays, summer 2007, new guitarist, Milina, joined the band. Now we're planing to do several shows and to record new promo A.s.a.p.Hope to see you on some of our shows. CHEERS!!!
