Jeremy Carbone a.k.a Dj Golden Touch became interested in DJing after watching the movie Beat Street in the mid 80's. Shortly after he began experimenting with pause mixing using three boomboxes and tapes he had made of local radio station WILD. Heavily influenced by the music of Prince, New Edition, the Fat Boys, Run DMC and Duran Duran he bought his first drumset at a young age. He started going to Kenmore Sq every weekend and spending all his paper route money on cassette tapes from Nuggets and soon he was banging the drums along to the much heavier sounds of Black Sabbath and Kiss. In the early 90's he played drums in the Harrdcore/Punk band Nevertheless. After releasing a few 7"s and playing shows all over the east coast the band broke up. Around 93 Jeremy sold his drums and bought two turntables, a cheap sampler and a four track and began expermenting with Hip Hop. It wasn't long before he started networking with other MC's and DJ's active in the emerging underground Boston Hip Hop scene including emcees like Mr. Lif, Akrobatik, Virtuoso, Bombshot, Shuman, Radioactive, Insight, Mike Boston and MC Driven and DJ's Supreme one, Juan Sense, Skinny B (DJ Yamin), Losroc and many others. Jeremy at that time going by the name DJ Anarchy got his start DJing Hip Hop at house parties while local emcees battled on the mic. Influenced by the music of the House and Rave scene of the time he later started a Trip Hop band called X-Hypnotist with ex-members of Hardcore bands Eye for an Eye and Maelstrom. Over the years he has deejayed at many venues all over Boston, Cambridge and Marthas Vineyard where he opened up for major reggae acts like the Wailers, Toots and the Maytals, Maxi Priest, Luciano and Capleton. Most recently he has played at the Om Lounge, The Midway, The Milkyway, the GoodLife, the Enormous Room and the Redline. DJ Golden Touch's mixing style continues to evolve, deeply routed in dance classics he embraces an all-genre style of blending.
