Right now my life revolves around studying for the CPA exam. My social life will resume in October.
Other people who just want to have fun, accomplish goals and not just talk about doing things, love one another, treat others the same as they want to be treated, and make the most of their lives. I have zero interest in being someone else's fan club--I want to meet people who will appreciate ME for once.
if you are not into SOME kind of music we probably will have nothing to talk about. it doesn't have to be anything i like, but you need to be into something. i like everything, but favorites include 45 grave, aerosmith, alice cooper, all night, allman bros, amplified heat, any music with accordions, betty davis, bikini kill, black diamond heavies, black flag, black oak arkansas, black sabbath, bob log iii, bobby bare jr, cadallaca, carly simon, carter family, cedell davis, cinderella, clutch, conway twitty, david allan coe, deep purple, def leppard, devotchka, dixie witch, dolly parton, drag the river, drive-by truckers, earthride, electric frankenstein, ernest tubbs, fontella bass, gogol bordello, guns n roses, hank williams (not jr. or iii), hazard county girls, HONKY, immortal lee county killers, jason isbell, jimmie rogers, johnny cash, jurassic 5, kitty wells, kyuss, led zeppelin, le tigre, everything that loretta lynn EVER did, lynyrd skynyrd, lucero, marvin gaye, pre-1988 metallica, meatjack, minsk, molly hatchet, morphine, motley crue, nebula, orange goblin, queens of the stone age, ramones, ratt, ronnie james dio (the little man!), rwake, sabbat, scott biram, shame club, sisters of mercy, slayer, sleater-kinney, very very old soundgarden, solace, sons of otis, steve earle, suplecs, t-model ford, tami hart, tammy wynette, tummler, the cars, the cult, the donnas, the eagles, the frumpies, the gossip, the misfits (NOT the jerry only band), the monads, the supersuckers, the toadies, tom petty, type o negative, velcro lewis & his 100 proof band, velvet revolver, wanda jackson, waylon jennings, willie nelson, whitesnake, valient thorr. i LOVE glam rock from the 70s and 80s but think a lot of 22 yr old guys who try to look like nikki sixx are funnier than they are sexy. i realize that lists this long seem pretentious but i actually left out a whole bunch of stuff. i do not like a whole lot of jazz music, i do not understand the appeal whatsoever. i don't want to make out with shooter jennings anymore, he just looks like he needs a bath. Almost anything on Fat Possum Records is good. All of those old men playing the blues on beale street are cooler than you think.
I am looking forward to Hellboy 2, Pineapple Express, and the Dark Knight this summer. Old favorites include the first Narnia movie, Labyrinth, most horror movies from the 70s and 80s, the Porky's movies, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (the original), The Lost Boys, A Clockwork Orange, Ever After, Harold and Kumar (both of the movies), Caddyshack, Juno, Sixteen Candles, Never Been Kissed, and BORAT. Love anything that Seth Rogen has been in so far.
I like Weeds, Dexter, Las Vegas, nip/tuck, Deadwood, and Ugly Betty. Currently addicted to Sex & The City reruns. Hate Gray's Anatomy and The L Word (too much drama to be real). ....
I like Tom Robbins books, Min Jin Lee, Christopher Moore, Neil Gaiman, Ruth Ozeki, MaryJanice Davidson, Laurell K. Hamilton for the guilty pleasure vampire hunter books, Klosterman, Palahniuk, Charlaine Harris, trashy VC Andrews novels (Flowers in the Attic), Terry Brooks, books about voodoo, and a bunch of other stuff. I like trashy girly novels but I would rather ram a hook through my eye socket and dangle on it than read anything written by Danielle Steel. I love to read and go through more books than necessary, my favorite thing in the world lately is to lay in bed with books (that's sad). Got any suggestions? Message me and let me know! I love new stuff.
"Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love." - Neil Gaiman
