When the U.S. Latin audience thinks of Brazilian music, the first few acts that come to mind are Roberto Carlos, Simone, Ivan Lins, Sergio Mendes and Alexandre Pires. Since Roberto Carlos, Alexandre has been the only Brazilian artist, to break in both Latin America and Spain, selling millions of records first with his former band So' Pra Contrariar and later as a solo artist. As a solo artist, Alexandre has sold more than one million copies worldwide. His debut solo album sold an astonishing 300,000 units in the U.S., thus making him an international supertstar.
"A Un Idolo" ("To An Idol") is Alexandre's first production with EMI Televisa Music. The album pays tribute one of the great Latin perfomers of all time, Julio Inglesias and features Alexandre's suave vocal style and arrangements. The album includes some of Julio Inglesias' biggest international hits such as: "Hey," "A Veces Tu, A Veces Yo," and "Por El Amor de Una Mujer."
