WE ARE ALL TARGETS OF
BREED SPECIFIC LEGISLATION!
We may be mutts, but we are still targets of BSL because we're a Great Dane/Doberman mix, and a Pit Bull/Husky mix. Kane, our Rottie, passed away in Spring, but his breed is also deeemed as dangerous by supporters of BSL. Instead of punishing the drug dealers, meth producers, and gangsters that ABUSE breeds like us because we're big and strong, we are being punished for the way we look when we're born, and for the way we react to those awful HUMANS who hurt us and take advantage of our very loyal nature! We're really just sweet pups who love to cuddle, play and sleep, and only get mean if someone is trying to hurt us or our family (especially our momma). Our grandparents' terriers are meaner than we are, but when they show aggressive behavior, it's "cute" instead of scary! How is that kind of stereotyping fair? It's the bad people who should be euthanized, not us!
There are already many places our parents will never be able to move because of a total ban on some breeds like us. It gets worse: there is currently an attempt to pass legislation to approve total breed extermination in some counties in America and Canada. Italy, for example, already has almost 100 breeds that are illegal to own because the bad people change to a new breed when their last favorite is no longer a viable option. Really, it should be the human offenders who get the harsh punishment for abusing us so much in the first place. Our parents regularly sign petition at The Petition Site about this, and other animal rights issues to try and help legislators see the truth.
