Bounce

Since a very early age Bounce (born Nathan Cassells) showed a profound interest in music and not even a year after he could talk, he was reciting words he'd heard on the radio. Fast forward a decade and Nathan feels like an outcast, in a school where himself and his younger sister are the only people with afro carribean background. Household names such as Marvin Gaye and Kool And The Gang are like a foreign language to most of his peers, so Nathan was ushered into a musical world he didn't feel completely comfortable in however he can't deny the broadening effect it had on his instrumental spectrum. He recalls his mum telling him a story reffering to when Nathan was in year four, when the teacher asked the class what their favourite songs were, most answered 'twinkle twinkle' or 'mary had a litle lamb' but when Nathan was asked he proudly answered 'Chaka Demus And Pliers - Tease Me.' Time went on with music being nothing more than a past time for Bounce...that is until he turned 13. Nathan remembers being able to associate any emotion he had with a song, and once friends started to turn thier back on him, his CD Player or MD was his right hand. Through the years to come Nathan grew closer to music and created his own ecclectic taste ranging from soul to metal to ambient styles, but hip hop was wifey!! Not a day went past (or goes past) without Bounce popping in his headphones and zoning out. This became more and more apparant in years 10 and 11 where Nathan caught a reputation for being the 'goto' kid for the hot new exclusives. Year 11 was also a big year for Nathan, it was the year when he joined with Christopher Crentsil to form Street Empire...as a rapper. After countless letdowns with the on board 'producer' Bounce took it upon himself to learn how to make the music he needed to hear. After a long process (which is still going) he is able to sit down in most environments and make the music that moves people...That is what you are witnessing right now.
