The Almeida Gallery was created by Soraia Almeida as a space to show and sell her work. It is first and foremost an online gallery, however, exhibitions and events at other galleries are planned, to give people an opportunity to see and buy the works, as well as meet the artist in person.Soraia is a new emerging artist with a passion for unusual techniques. These techniques are the crux of her work’s originality and merit. Her work focuses on large abstract works on canvas, using a plethora of methods from sliding, encaustic, acrylic and oils, gem stones and sand to collages in cloth, leather and paper. Through these mediums, the artist portrays a world filled with colour, texture and depth.It is the artist’s belief that art should do more than just hang on someone’s wall - it should interact with its owner.
