Electric Sideshow

Witness the strange, odd, bizarre and unusual!

About Me

Electric Sideshow was spawned in New Jersey, in a dark little club where Lenore met the power-driven trio Skulls .
The combination of guitar amps and the modified beauty pounding three-inch spikes into her head gave those brave enough to attend a show something that they will surely never forget. She has traveled to several states, toured with an authentic 10-in-1 and has now planted roots in Philadelphia. Last year she was invited as a guest to join the ranks of Carnivolution [a celebration of music, sideshow, fire, poetry and art that can be found at the Ellen Powell Tiberino Museum in West Philly, every second Friday from May to October] and other notable performers, such as Barry Silver of the Unholy Sideshow . The two have also teamed up and released Alive On the Inside, a local guide to circus and sideshow, past and present. The intent is to keep the public informed about the illustrious history of circus and sideshow [both in PA and her native NJ], as well as those who presently keep the traditions alive.

This year, Lenore will partner with Syd, whom she affectionately calls the Human Can Opener due to his unique ability to remove the lid of can with his teeth. The two plan on touring PA, NJ, NY and any other state with enough intestinal fortitude to have them. They will appear on stage at the East Coast Oi! Fest in Allentown PA this coming May, and continue to bring a unique brand of classic sideshow with a modern twist to curious and eager audiences nationwide.

[Every performance is dedicated to the memory of Jon, mentor, teacher, brother and faithful companion who tragically passed away last summer.]

My Interests

Deep in the swamps of New Jersey, Dr. Jonathan B. Angelus was on assignment investigating the report from locals of a “Wild Creature” seen lurking about. There he stumbled upon a most fascinating specimen in her natural habitat and instantly began to jot down notes. Over many long days and nights, he recorded the behavior of the “Strange Girl" [as he came to call her] and witnessed her perform peculiar rituals such as ingesting insects, dancing with enormous snakes and the ability to walk on broken glass without being cut. Bursting with curiosity, the good doctor decided to make a bold move in order to closely examine the Strange Girl. He realized communication may be difficult, due to the fact the he neither wanted to scare her or even knew if she could speak. While contemplating the exact course of action he would take, a snake was coiling around his legs and slowly making its way for his neck. In a matter of seconds, Dr. Angelus found himself being constricted by the massively muscled serpent and cried out for help. To his relief--and perhaps even surprise--the Strange Girl easily removed the snake from around his body and allowed it to wrap around her own. It was his first up-close glimpse of the bizarre beauty, captivated by her impressive collection of body modification, which included vibrant tattoos, facial piercing and stretched ear lobes. She smiled as she picked up his notebook and handed it to him, definite signals that she was indeed friendly. This was the “Wild Creature” that so many had been terrified of? True, she was certainly unique, but he got the feeling that she meant no harm to any of the townspeople.
However, Dr. Angelus decided to relieve them of their plight by removing the Strange Girl from that swamp and brought her to his house on the Shore. There she was able to develop her natural skills, and he decided that such a rare discovery should be shared with the rest of the world. He began by exhibiting her to close friends, who in turn would come back with their friends and others who were equally curious to lay eyes upon the Strange Girl [for a small fee of course]. He was quite proud of how well she interacted with the people and realized that it would be possible to display her to larger audiences. Here it should be noted that through the years, the two formed an amazing friendship; a bond so often misunderstood it led to many ugly rumors. That did not stop him from traveling throughout the state to various clubs with her. Eventually he came to give her a proper name, and could think of none more fitting than ‘Lenore’, a nod to favored author Edgar Allen Poe.
In the years that followed, he sent her to the Coney Island Sideshow School in order to expand her repertoire, and from there she began a career as an actual performer.
From the wilds of New Jersey, the refined bizarre beauty stepped into the spotlight and left her home in search of other performers, finding many in the fair city of Philadelphia, birthplace of the American circus. From basements to club stages, she has amazed, confused and perhaps even disgusted a wide variety of audiences. She is the only female sword swallower from New Jersey, a feat approximately 75 people world wide can duplicate.

I'd like to meet:
