About Me

Help us out. Buy some songs.........A long time ago, in a basement, two brothers got the bug that ran through family bloodlines for generations. Musicians were aplenty in their family, it was only a matter of time before they started making their own music. After countless combinations of band members, together and on their own, Jay and Cliff began playing with Matt, a very uniquely talented, self taught musician and composer. It was immediately apparent that the three belonged together. Not too far away, just a few miles across the NYC line, Dave was discovering his own musical and lyrical abilities. He had a deep emotional well overflowing with lyrical and melodic creativity plus the voice to express it. It would only be a matter of time before their worlds would collide....The chaos that is known as everyday life made it difficult to find time for music, the bands suffered. Jay, Cliff and Matt had played for the last time as Spiral Moon, their most successful project up to that point. Sounds negative, but if you like to believe that everything happens for a reason, this story is for you. Jay went on to play drums in a hardcore band for a short time, Cliff sang here and there, but mostly spent time away from the music world. Matt wound up making the most important move. He met Dave. Soon after, Dave's band needed a bassist and Matt was willing to fill that role. Over the next couple of years, Matt and Dave remained together through several different band lineups, Matt switched back to guitar, his more natural instrument. Eventually, Jay was recruited to play bass for them. When their drummer decided to go off and do his own thing it opened up the door for Jay to return to drums, his more natural instrument. That left them in need of a bassist. Cliff was practically going through withdrawal at this point, being away from music for so long. Although he had been a vocalist for most of the previous 10 years, his original instruments since childhood were guitar and bass. He welcomed the opportunity to return to his roots and have the chance to create music once again. The four hit it off immediately, the chemistry was instant. The familiarity between Jay and Cliff made the rhythm section solid and laid the perfect foundation for the melodies that Matt and Dave created.Dead Seven was originally formed in Rockaway Beach, NY. They played their first two shows under the name Divine Scar before deciding on the name Dead Seven.Dead Seven has a CD available which was recorded live at Electric Plant Studios in Brooklyn, NY. Some additional vocal and guitar tracks were added on afterwards by Jay, our in-house recording engineer. There are 9 tracks on the CD.
