About Me

I'm currently living in Edmonton where I bought a house a few months ago. Life here is good, but I do miss my friends back in Ontario. Sometimes I feel torn between staying here and going back to Ontario, but there just seems to be more opportunities here in Alberta. I suppose it would be easier if I had more friends out here. I have a few close friends here already, so that makes it easier. I do miss the outdoors of Ontario though. The lakes, rivers, and rolling hills (not to mention the curvy roads I so love to drive on). Alberta does have it's attractions, but I haven't spent any time seeing them really except that I hiked up Moose Mountain sometime in 2006. In the summer of 2007 I went back to Ontario to work at a summer camp that has been an important part of who I am for the last 8 years. I don't know if I'll be able to go back again this summer. It's a money issue. I don't care about the money I make there (it's not very much), it's just that I have a house now and houses are expensive. There's always slim chance I could if I rent out all three rooms for the summer that I could go back to the camp. But part of me wants to use the summertime to explore Alberta's beauty and go on a couple hiking trips/camping somewhere. I' d also like to make more friends here. I just don't know many good places to meet people. My job doesn't really give me that opportunity as I work on drilling rigs for Precision Drilling.
