Drive-ins (went to a really kick ass drive-in just twenty minutes from LA for my bday...saw Dukes of Hazard which was a total blast and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which sucked. But man, the place is just amazing and you don't know how fun it is to see movies, even ones that suck, in this type of setting.) or anything unusual, offbeat or overlooked. Double that up with traveling/roadtripping and you have a pretty cool time as far as I'm concerned.
I still think it would be pretty kick ass to hang out with Grover. Are there any gay Furries? Them I'd like to meet. Would be hot, dagnabit.
Sufjan Stevens is pretty much whats playing over and over and over on my ipod lately...can't seem to stop listening to him. If i had gone the way of music his is what I would have wanted to sound like. Emiliana Torrini, Kathleen Edwards, Feist...saw Nickle Creek perform instore at Ameoba on the 9th and they were pretty amazing live (although I'm not so sure I like their new album...haven't decided), doing a bluegrass rendition of a Radiohead song was pretty amazing, so they're back into my playlists right now.
Do I name a title here that will make me seem cool or one that will make me seem smart? Hmmmmm....
Bobby Hill. Hands down.
The Baron in the Trees. Where the Wild Things Are. The Phantom Tollbooth. The Alchemist. The Lorax. The Alice B. Toklas Cookbook. Out of Africa. Pema Chodron and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Starting to read a lot again and its great. I had forgotten how much I loved it.
I think that just gettin through life relatively unscathed makes everyone heros and even though I admire many people who achieve what I only dream off I think most of my admiration I save for my friends. They're pretty kick ass.
