Melody always has seemed to be fascinated by music and musical instruments. At age 4 she began playing an organ at her Great-Grand Parent’s home. After seeing Ernest Tubb sing and perform at age 10 she wanted to play the guitar and sing country music like he did. Melody grew up listening to the Grand Ole Opry and Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree; tuned in to hear Mr. Tubb perform on the shows. She began playing the guitar at age 12 by using a chord instruction book and playing along with Ernest Tubb records. A couple years later she discovered Justin Tubb’s songwriting talent. His phrasing and clever use of lyrics inspired her to begin writing songs herself. Melody made her first stage appearance at age 17 during a high school choir program. She sang a solo of "Waltz Across Texas" and accompanied herself on the guitar. Melody then began playing at local barn dances, jam sessions and restaurants.
Melody signed her first recording contract in 2001 with then Baritone Records and recorded her first album "Honky Tonk Side Of Me" on the Angel Music Group Label. 3 singles from this album "White Ring", "Walkin’ The Floor Blues," and "Honky Tonk Side of Me" have received radio airplay throughout Europe, internet radio, and select radio stations through out the U.S.A. A demo recording of Melody’s song "My Best Friend" has received radio airplay in Canada, and a demo recording of "One Last Goodbye" has received radio airplay on independent radio staions in the U.S.A. Melody’s song "White Ring" charted at 75 in Europe and recently "Walkin’ The Floor Blues" has charted at 22 in Sweden and "Honky Tonk Side Of Me" has now placed in the top 40 in 8 countries in Europe. Melody’s music is currently being distributed and promoted by Salt Run Records.
Melody has sang at the Ryman Auditorium and Tootsies Orchid Lounge in Nashville, TN. Melody is a songwriter with B.M.I. (Broadcast Music, Inc.) and owns a music publishing company "Melody Michael Music" also with B.M.I.
Melody’s musical goal is to sing at the Grand Ole Opry and the show her musical hero; Ernest Tubb started "The Ernest Tubb Midnite Jamboree."
