In the year 1998 D.J.Y moved to the United States, and music was still his passion. He had a dream to be a part of music, to release his own form and style. At that moment it was only a dream and nothing more. It seemed as if it would never happen. As time went on, a new genera of music called Reggaeton began to appear in the states, this captured his attention. By early 2000 D.J.Y was involved in many personal productions, such as, mix tapes and DJ-ing at events.
By mid 2005 D.J.Y was involved in many more events and was even apart of community events with a local radio station. All the events and mix tapes got him known as a DJ, but this was not his main goal. By 2006 he decided to start recording, producing, and experimenting with different types of music. He heavily studied different music movements in the early 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. His goal in music production was to produce a new sound. Some of his biggest influences became to be Jimmy Hendrix, Bob Marley, and many in the 1998 Pop/Rock era.
