What are my interests? I fancy myself a media 'jack of all trades'. I used to be a jungle (drum-n-bass) DJ under the moniker LNMental and as a result I had a job ordering the records in my genre for Central Records for many many years. Now you might catch me somewhere doing a set out of my record collection by way of Motown, Funk, Soul, and Underground and Classic hip-hop. But I don't play out often. I'm old and tired. Hehehe. (Last gig May '07.) I used to be very active as a spoken word artist : guest (Wordphoria) and host (Parle Night, Chosen Prose). (Last gig August '07.) I was a band / DJ manager and artist development consultant (eRIC E/Kontraband, the Katsckillz Project/Southropolis/the Others and the DiSoRiEnTaLiStS). I still manage to consult and advise members of the Others, from time to time. I love those boys. I was once an art peddler (LNMental Aesthetics) and sold my stash boxes and greeting cards for many years in local stores and venues. I have a background in advertising sales (CBS Radio, Elevate, COATCHECK, Banktown U$A, TRIP Magazine). I did years of club promotions. And I was also employed often as a freelance writer as a music reviewer, food critic and to report on other pertinant entertainment topics (Elevate, Live Wire, ATM, DOA, Banktown U$A, Pitch Adjust, Loaf, Thrift, Q Zine, AMPS 11, Charlotte Mix, the Greater Charlotte Hospitality Newsletter). You can still read all of my interviews that were published on my old music website : www.COATCHECK.net . I'm not here (on myspace) for dating, I have an unbelievably awesome man in my life. I'm a very lucky girl. I'm just here (on myspace) to keep up with my friends. For whom I am also very lucky. Let it be known, everyone on my "friends list", I know, personally and that's how I plan to keep it. I took down my ORIGINAL myspace page (LNMental / Coatcheck) in Sept. of '06 and put it back up in the 1st qtr of '07. I took a break from myspace but soon came back. When I was more active in promotions and had my first myspace page, I found myspace to be instrumental in meeting people in the music industry. I came back to myspace to keep up with my friends and colleagues. And I'm glad that I did. Holla. * If you are an artist of any type without a myspace page, you are robbing yourself of a wonderful tool for necessary self-promotion.
