Shirted Ape was launched in January 2007, as a brand new company dedicated to helping young illustrators and graphic designers, particularly students and recent graduates promote themselves for free. Between them the people behind Shirted Ape have a strong background in Illustration, Graphic Design and Retail and wanted to link these three industries together in a fresh and exciting way. From leaving university most students are faced with a difficult industry to get started in, often with self promotion being the only way to get going. Shirted Ape works by collecting your submitted designs and carefully hand printing them onto extremly high quality T-shirts all for free. If your work is selected for printing we add a link to your website / e-mail address to our links page and allow you to design your own personal label to be printed inside of your T-shirts. This form of self promotion has proved incredibly successful among a range of students, recent graduates and practicing illustrators and graphic designers.
