Reading is my main interest, although I listen to lots of music and watch many films. I go for a jog every other evening (weather permitting, of course). You may have noticed that I did not put down socialising. Well, that's because I don't need to be surrounded by loads of people, and cos I prefer to keep to myself. I prefer my own company (and that of my family and friends, whom I love and cherish more than life itself) but when the occasion calls for it I can be sociable.

The first tune that really caught my ear when I was a kid (this would be in the 80s) was Michael Jackson's 'Human Nature' (form the Thriller album) I dunno why but it's a really nice tune and I still sing along to it when I hear it. I grew up listening to thrash/death/black metal (I got into this when I was a teenager and I still listen to it). These days, my music of choice is classical/opera (too many composers and pieces to mention here) but I like to dabble in 60s and 80s music, r'n'b, hip-hop and rap is alright (in small doses), and movie soundtracks. I also like to listen to ordinary radio stations, just on the off-chance that I might hear something new which I might like. And there was a time, when I was 18, when I used to be really into euphoric trance music, but you just experiment, don't ya? It's called growing up.
Like my choice in music, the films I watch are just as varied. I love horror films (been watching them since I was 6 years old!) Hellraiser, Candyman, The Exorcist, Omen 1&2 (that 'Ave Satani' tune is a work of pure genius), John carpenter's Vampires, The Thing (John Carpenter's version), Prince of Darkness, Fallen (a film starring Denzel Washington - got one of the best and most original chase scenes ever), Devil's Advocate, Scream, A Nightmare On Elm Street (I could go on). Then there's Thrillers (ditto Silence of the Lambs, amazing to think that Anthony Hopkins was only in that film for 16 minutes!), Hitchcock films, Tarantino films, the occasional action movie, comedies, foreign-language films, black&white films (old ones and the more modern stuff), films like interMission, GMT, Outlaw, Human Traffic (wicked film!)and 24-Hour Party People (starring Steve Coogan) Steven Spielberg movies, Grindehouse flicks. Then there are films I watch cos they have a particular actress/actor in it.
I don't watch much TV, but I'll browse through the TV guide every week on the possibility that there'll be something on which I like, as in a documentary or something.
I love reading. I prefer it to watching TV. What do I read? Well, fiction (thrillers mainly), literary fiction, but it's usually non-fiction I go for; Psychology, nature, history, religion, mysteries, crime (mainly case studies about serial killers/mass murderers), (auto)biographies, culture, other countries, and things like Shakespeare, Dante, Milton, Marlowe etc. I also have a thing for poetry, epics like Beowulf, ancient literature and mediaeval church texts (probably a relic from the time I thought about becoming a Carmelite Friar) and I'm interested by urban myths and their origins. And I write stuff myself! Thriller novels (I use the word thriller very loosely but I like to use the structure of thrillers) and poetry mainly (check out my blogs) - I hope to make a career out of it one day!
I empathise with antiheroes better. Anton Szandor laVey and Hassan Ibn Al-Sabbah are the closest I've got to idols.
