LOUIE GUIANG (1968 - 2007)He started honing his drumming skills with Private Stock at the age of 16. Always a Stock no matter how many sessions he did in various bands...still a Stock. He began hanging out with a punk named Edmond Araullo when they were still freshmen in high school at St. James Academy in Malabon. He jammed with Edmon with a set of assembled plastic containers as his first drum kit. He learned from there and he always uses his arms in air drumming the beat of any song he would like no matter where he is....even on public vehicles, like jeepneys. He has a great sense of imagination with regards to getting the right beat just from air drumming.
Then when Private Stock moved further he developed so quick that he had to end having two bands at the same time. Around that time he joined GI and the Idiots, a punk band. There he was juggling his skills from Private Stock's mod/rockabilly beat and GI idiots' punk/ hardcore beat. You can just imagine how he can hold a steady beat!
Then when both bands took time off he became a Put3Ska. This time he was doing ska beats, still with finese, with class but with fire. This is our boy! From there he also was doing sessions from the Jerks, to Tropical Depression (a reggae band) and other mod or ska bands.
Then on one fatal night, while riding a Vespa scooter behind a mod, a reckless bus driver hit them and threw them a few feet away and left them lifeless. At first the news was leg amputation.... but a few days after, complications set in and took our Weslu away. He will be missed, for sure. His steady beat, his grace, and his fire! Weslu, let's do a high five for the last time and have a nice travel there going to our creator.
