LyricsAfter spending a lifetime working in the Fitness Industry as an Aerobic and Fitness Instructor, I was getting bored. Going out every weekend was the only thing I looked forward to! My boyfriend and I went to some of Melbourne's best nightclubs and rocked to some of the best DJ's but we noticed the scene was changing. It was becoming a place you didn't want to be, so we stopped going out. We started "Club Povo", the place you go when there you can't afford to go anywhere else. All our friends started coming over, we'd listen to CD's, have Dance Off competitions and remember all the good times we had. We decided we'd start our own crew, we would try to bring the fun and smiles back to the rave scene, so Melbourne Dance Addicts was born. My boyfriend wanted to start DJ-ing so he bought some decks. About this time, he met through some friends another guy who was tired of the scene being the way it was, and he too had just bought some decks. These two boys became inseperable, practising at every chance they could get! After a few months, they started playing at birthday parties and a few small gigs. I always enjoyed listening to them jam but there were times that I wanted to hear different tracks, so thats when I thought I'd give it a go. Being a girl, the boys never really gave me a chance, I would basically have to wait til they weren't looking and jump on! But thanks to some encouragement from a top female DJ, Nikki Sig, I kept on persisting. We started going out again, to a place where the music is great and the people are friendly, 3D nightclub. It was St Luke from 3D that gave the boys their big break, entering them in the 3D DJ competition. At this time, Club Povo was having some of the best parties, with the boys now meeting some of Melbourne's best DJ's and inviting them back to jam with them. Club Povo had DJ line up's that most people would pay to see! I was getting more chances to play, and got to actually play more than 1 track before getting kicked off! In November '06, I finally got to play my first set that wasn't in Club Povo. St Luke gave me a set at 3D for my birthday, a versus with my boyfriend. It hasn't stopped since then, I've been playing out a bit lately. My biggest gigs so far being at Kryal Castle in Smilepolice's Airlock Room in February this year and recently getting to the final 5 in the 3D DJ Competition! Oh yeah, now if you're wondering who the boys are that are mentioned in this, well they are Wok Solid (my superstar) and DJ Inferno (my little 'bro')

I'd like to meet:

Well, I'm not too sure who exactly I'd like to meet. In the past few years I've met some fantastic people in the scene. I would like to meet (and probably never will): God, well that one's inevitable, Kermit the Frog, he is real!, Bam Margera's uncle Don Vito, I could become his translator, Nicole Ritchie, just to have lunch with, Justin Timberlake, his stuff is cool and funky, Santa Claus, where's my bicycle?, Pink, we could compare hair colours, Chopper, I could talk his ears off, Jewelz and Bexta, those girls ROCK!, the guy who owns Cadbury's Chocolates (no explanation needed there)

Music:

Being a LITTLE bit older than most of you, I have accumulated a wide range of music over the years. My first album was ABBA's Arrival (ok, I was like 6 years old then). Being a teenager in the eightee's means I grew up with the likes of Prince, Michael Jackson, WHAM, Madonna and Cyndi Lauper, so me being me I had to rebel and love stuff like the Sex Pistols (I had a blue mohawk for a while then), the Clash, Sioxee and the Banshees. Then I grew out of that and went through my Jimi Hendrix/Doors stage. Then coz I was going out more it was anything played at the nightclubs (well, actually I became a regular at The Tunnel), now this means Boom Boom by Paul Lekakis, Male Stripper by Man to Man through to 2 Unlimited's Get Ready for This & Technotronic's Pump up the Jam. I could look through my collection of records & cd's and find stuff like Red Hot Chilli Peppers' Californication, Nelly's Nellyville, David Bowie's Changes, Blondie's Greatest Hits, Alice Cooper's Welcome to my Nightmare, Kylie's Fever (yes, I have a Kylie Minogue cd), AC/DC's Back in Black, Live's Throwing Copper, Powderfinger's Odessy Number 5 to DEVO's Greatest Hits. But looking at my new record collection, my first track bought for me was For an Angel by Paul van Dyke. My all time favorite track that makes me get up & dance to (no matter how trashy I am) is Derb's Africa. I love playing UK Hard Dance a lot so anything by Steve Hill is worth getting. Then there's Tidy tracks, Overdose tracks, Blutonium tracks and of course all the stuff Dave Joy produces. So you could really say I like ALL types of music...............now where is that Wiggles cd?

Movies:

I'm the sort of person who puts on a DVD, watches about 3/4 of it and falls asleep! Especially to the ones that I really want to watch! I've seen that many movies that I just don't know how it ends now that it's just not funny anymore. I've had to buy a lot of DVD's just so I can watch them a lot of times to be able to see the whole movie! I love watching any of those kids cartoon movies, ie Ice Age, Barnyard. They're great when you don't want to have to think too hard. (Trust me, I don't like thnking hard at any time!) On the other hand, I like watching all those Horror/Thrillers that scare the crap out of you! Got to admit I liked watching The Grudge and Saw. My all time favorite movie is: The Wizard of Oz
