Sarasvati: I am an aficionado of fine lyric and brush. . I like people in the know who have done their research and can discuss the epistomologies of art, science, religion, and philosophy. Might I want to get to know you?
Do you have some music you'd like to share? Submit here. . I dream of dancing with two perfect feet again.... 4 months, 1 week, 2 days. Honestly, I used to research music mags - trolling through blogs and other sources of new information for trends and sounds that were being developed--hoping to keep abreast of the scene in order to have great sounds emerging from my car/home at all times, but over the past two years, I've divorced myself of this time-consuming hobby. It feels weird for me to acknowledge this as I've not made a direct decision, but instead - I have gradually phased out that research time in loo of looking into other things. I don't even listen to music that frequently anymore. My car's stereo is somewhat bust and my iPod lacks newness so I don't listen to it. This is an amazing transformation for someone who once was paid by friends to make them mixtapes of what I thought was jive. . . When I do play something, I listen to music that generates movement in my soul, a beating inside my heart that connects to all my veins till i am compelled to react in my nerves and finally; i dance. .

Tell you what... I never thought I'd be so glad to not be editing television anymore... can you say, "B O R I N G ! !" . I just spent the afternoon watching all the Street action on the financial shows... if i take this job offer, i'm going to need to be able to discuss these issues in their terms with the best of them... err... i don't know how i feel about that. finance in theory, i know all about: in action, i haven't really been paying super close attention to real world scenarios. except in case studies such as those about the Dole company and the banana trade in general; historically.
Ah, reading. My first love. When I was 18 and waiting to go to college, I worked at a chain bookstore's cafe. This allowed me the opportunity to read read read read read during the slow periods. I, then, made a pact to read the classics - all of them. I rummaged through a few book lists and created a plan. Luckily for me, my college courses helped a bit. As a few of the books on my list were accomplished by taking Black Lit and Post Colonial Lit courses... Also, while at GWU, I worked at a local bookstore where I started really sampling whole collections by artists whose work I had been introduced to by their appearance on my "Classics" list. This definitely gave me perspective, but, alas, nearly ten years later and I'm still working on my list... I believe I have managed to read 80% of it. Pretty good, I think. Considering this plan didn't account for all the contemporary and nonfiction books I was still desirous of reading. . I typically have four to six books open at any given time... right now, I have seven. I just added "Blood Meridian" by Cormac McCarthy after discovering it on a shelf next to "Kitchen Confidential" in a great independent hot beverage shop in Grand Junction, Colorado. For $2, I had a wonderful conversation with it's owner and walked away with the story.
Alice Paul, Chipeta, Eleanor Roosevelt, Waris Dirie
