Growing up in these devastatingly poor neighborhoods almost tarnished their hope for brighter days. Some will argue the streets are only filled with criminals, forgetting the creative energy emerging from them and that some of the most ingenious and innovative ideas come from the streets. METAZONs raw and abundant talent is a conclusive evidence. -- METAZON come from Montreals famous Parc-Extension, St-Michel, St-Leonard, Cartierville, Montreal-North, Hochelaga, NDG, C..te-des-Neiges and Verdun, and all of them have the same ambition at heart: to better their community. Their music is powerful. It reveals the treasures of todays cultures. Their unique sound is a mixture of funk break beats, Latin acoustic rhythms with a Southern American, Middle Eastern, Asian and Caribbean soul. METAZON comes full-force hitting the bilingual market at the canadian urban music with the release of their first classic, the album Now or Never - The Black Album. Being the only group that delivers tracks in English, Spanish, Creole and, French, they are rapidly known as the most innovative entrepreneurs with a style never heard before. As a result, METAZON sold 4000 copies independently by word of mouth and with a street team effort. The sound of their classic single Que Quieres, using the exotic rhythms of the charango (a musical instrument from the Andes made in the carapace of an armadillo), is something that had never been done before in the worlds urban music scene. This brought METAZON under the spotlight, earning them several invitations to perform at the Canadian Music Week. The group was chosen among 170 other contestants. -- Montreal, 2006. The word is on the streets, METAZON is Montreals best kept secret and is recognized as THE group to watch in the near future by the "Vue sur la rel..ve" festival.
