Theocracy hails from Athens, GA, and their critically-acclaimed, self-titled debut album was released on MetalAges Records in late 2003. The album was completely created by founding member Matt Smith, and was hailed by fans and critics alike as a Power Metal tour-de-force of the highest quality. The music is heavy, epic and powerful, and the band is very proud of this disc.
Since the album's release, Theocracy has gained three new members: drummer Shawn Benson, guitarist Jon Hinds, and bassist Patrick Parris. The full lineup has been playing shows around the Atlanta area to rave reviews with more shows already booked and upcoming. At the moment, the band is in the studio, continuing to work on their much-anticipated next release. Initial reports have been excellent, and their sophomore effort promises to meet the same high standard as the first album.
