Young, fresh and only 18 years rolling, Will Ahas (Assailant Beatz) is well on his way to producing hit tracks for who’s who in the music industry. At the early age of 15, Will decided to make his transition from award winning illustrator to music producer after taking up an interest in the production process. "I would listen to songs on the radio and seperate the instruments and elements, then I would try to make the same beats on my computer." Eventually moving on to compose his own work, the then 9th grader made his hobby an everyday requisite. It wasn't until he took some of his pieces to his oldest sister that he realized he had a chance at making his newly found interest a profession. "I was buggin out when I heard his music thinking where did this come from? It had potential written all over it," she says.Currently a student at AIU majoring in Media Production, Assailant continues to hone his craft by taking advantage of the resources made available. Earlier this year he put his beat baking abilities to the test by entering a competition organized by school faculty. His submission was selected out of nearly 100 entries. The grand prize was 30 hours of free studio time over one semester. “That just motivated me more. I had time to learn how to make beats using what the pros are using.â€Anyone that knows Assailant can tell you that he eats, sleeps and literally breaths music. When asked about his signature sound he says, “I really don’t have one, I just do what I feel in hopes that it's accepted as good music. When it’s all said and done I can only be me and that’s good enough. If I can earn a nice living doing this that would be hella straight. But I'm not working my way up just to get five minutes of fame." This fresh young producer makes it very clear that he lives for the music first and if the rest follows, then that's what's up.
