Hi people,Thanks for checking out the page, well as you guessed I don't play the Violin!! For me the drums are a way of life!!I have been playing now for over 20 years and that isn't bad going considering I'm only 28!I was first introduced to the drums by the legendary Phil Collins while listening to 'In The Air Tonight' and then that was the hook that reeled me in. As with most people taking up an instrument I went through pretty much all genres, playing Timpani in school orchestras and metal in my Angst teenage years, but then realised that where my real skills lay was in Funk drumming.So my music teacher turned me onto George Clinton, Bootsy Collins and the late James Brown. I am a firm believer that you cannot teach feel no matter how much you try, when you play funkyou can't come from a schooled point of view, you have to forget what you know and just feel the groove!! THATS ME!!!So why the outsider? well as you can see I am a white dude and no one expects me to play the drums the way I do, my drum teacher in school said that I have too much soul in my playing and I was born the wrong colour so he invited me to play for his gospel band!!I am always underestimated until I start playing
