ONE NATION HIP-HOP UNITY SUMMIT is an educational conference and music festival exploring Hip Hop Culture and its forms of expression as a means to cultivate knowledge, understanding, resistance and enlightenment for community and its youth.
The Summit will examine the use of Hip-Hop culture as a means of cultivating knowledge and power in our communities. The conference will provide insight for our youth and communities of how Hip-Hop creates bridges between members of the community, community organizations, educators, and schools.
The conference will feature workshops that critically examine the nature, culture and language of Hip-Hop on such topics as “Women and the State of Hip Hopâ€, following the workshops, a multitude of hip hop artists such as KRS-ONE are scheduled to perform. We will also feature an array of socially conscious vendors selling and distributing information. Our goal is to inform and share our knowledge with the community in the hopes of creating positive outlets that promote grassroots leadership, organization, and change.
