About Me

Hi: I am a native of this fair Planet (or at least that is what I have been told) who is mostly perplexed; with too much time on his hands and too much love in his heart.

My activities include, but are not limited to, the following: existing; writing; drinking NyQuil; relishing the plenilune radiance; reading about obscure and obtrusive things, the knowledge of which will aid me in irritating those who are unfortunate enough to be around me; visiting graves of those who died during the earlier half of the 20th century; planting trees on other people's property without their consent; teaching parrots to speak in a more cultured manner than their owners, so that the latter may be encouraged to become more educated.

Saint Benedict

R. Intempéstæ noctis hora vir Dei instans vigíliis assíduæ oratiónis, velut sub uno solis rádio, * Omnem mundum colléctum conspéxit. V. Vidénti enim Creatórem angústa est omnis creatúra.

R. Waiting for the hour of prayer, standing in the dead of night, the man of God, saw, as if it were under one beam of the sun, * the whole world gathered together. V. For seeing the Creator, all things created are very small.

(vii. resp., ii. Noct., Off. in Transitu S. P. N. Benedicti Abb., Breviarium Monasticum)

Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear!

And yet I wish but for the thing I have: / My bounty is as boundless as the sea, / My love as deep; the more I give to thee, / The more I have, for both are infinite. (Romeo and Juliet, Act II., scene ii.)

Ron Paul: The cure to my political nihilism and pessimism

The greatness of this nation is surpassed only by the unworthiness of its politicians and the stupidity and astonishingly low expectations of their respective herds. The only exception I have seen to this is Ron Paul. This is the man America needs.

* He has never voted to raise taxes.

* He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.

* He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.

* He has never voted to raise congressional pay.

* He has never taken a government-paid junket.

* He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

* He voted against the Patriot Act.

*He voted against regulating the Internet.

*He voted against the Iraq war.

* He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.

* He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

* Congressman Paul introduces numerous pieces of substantive legislation each year, probably more than any single member of Congress.

Swoon baby, starry nights, may our bodies remain...

You talk to the ceiling everyday. The speakers are shaking: why do I hear you okay?

I think the worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades... especially if your teammates are bad guessers

Thou wilt frighten me with dreams and terrify me with visions (Job vii. 14)

Portrayed by the great Lance Henrikson, Frank Black is man endowed with the exceptional ability to see evil and enter into the mind of the criminal.

He is my hero.

Let us not forget about his temptress, the evil and seductive Lucy Butler, portrayed brilliantly by Sarah-Jane Redmond. Lucy Butler is the figure of the base sum of all evil who tempts the heart of man with a maternal tenderness, an enthralling beauty and a haunting sublimity.

She said "Every living creature on earth dies alone".

"This famous linguist once said that of all the phrases in the English language, of all the endless combinations of words in all of history, that Cellar Door is the most beautiful." (Karen Pommeroy to Donnie Darko)

I haven't lived. I've died a few times.

[Psychiatrist] “Uh, tell me, Harold, what do you do for fun? What activity gives you a different sense of enjoyment from the others? Uh, what do you find fulfilling? What gives you that... special satisfaction?”

[Harold] “...I go to funerals”

He is plotting world domination, and he may just succeed.

"Come and play / Everything's A-okay / Friendly neighbors there / That's where we meet"

Amaterasu-o-mi-kami: Exultation in Art and Contemplation

The most famous legend of Amaterasu-o-mi-kami, the chief Shinto deity who irradiated the heavens, is a story I found extremely interesting. The gist of it runs like this: being driven by the machinati...
