Tripping Daisy is by far my favorite band ever. Nobody could truly understand how unbelievable this band was unless you were at those shows month after month. You could grab a cd and jam out a little but you won't really GET IT. Just as The Polyphonic Spree, Tripping Daisy was very much known for their live shows. If you saw Tripping Daisy in concert you were going to love their CD. Nobody knows how to pull a crowd into the emotion of his ART better than Tim DeLaughter. I saw Tripping Daisy 26 times in concert until the passing of guitarist Wes Berggren. I now try to fill that void with The Polyphonic Spree whom I've seen 21 times and counting. The Polyphonic Spree is amazing but... nothing can replace the Old Skool! Some of the best memories of my teenage years! At least The Polyphonic Spree does exist with some remaining members of Tripping Daisy, Tim DeLaughter, Mark Pirro, and Bryan Wakeland. Benjamin Curtis the drummer from UFOFU who replaced Bryan,(well, actually Mitch) is now playing guitar along side his brother in The Secret Machines. Phillip Karnats has also just released a solo album on the Good Records label. So, everyone has moved on and you can see the positive impact that Tripping Daisy has had on their careers.
The polyphonic spree, Tripping Daisy, The Broken Social Scene, The Black Tie Dynasty, Grandaddy, Wilco, Snow Patrol, The postal service, Death cab for cutie, Bloc Party, Pixies, Coheed and Cambria, The Secret Machines, Jimmy Eat World, The Hourly Radio, Sigur Ros, Mum, The flaming lips, Modest Mouse, Guster etc.
