About Me

Jefferson Beavers is a native of Dinuba, California. He was a newspaper journalist for 12 years, most recently as a copy editor and news designer at the Fresno Bee. He currently teaches classes in both the English Department and the Mass Communication and Journalism Department at Fresno State.

Jefferson earned his Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from Fresno State, with an emphasis in creative nonfiction, in May 2007. His work has appeared or is forthcoming in the San Joaquin Review, In The Grove, Pachuco Children Hurl Stones, and the citizen media website FresnoFamous.com .

Jefferson would like to write some more stuff and someday get published in a serious literary journal, but he would be happy with a reasonably steady job and a few new CDs. His girlfriend is Tracy and after more than two years together, he still thinks that she's pretty much the most amazing girl in the universe.
