I have been singing since I was 4 years old. I can remember my daddy writing songs and having them recorded in the studio and then bringing the tapes home. He would put the headphones on me and teach me the words and how to keep the beat. Those were precious times I spent with my daddy.
I have performed all my life, anywhere from back wood dives, water parks, fairs, local and national TV shows, to main venues.
I gave up my life of singing and traveling to date have a normal life so I could meet the man I was to marry and have a family. I went back to college and for the past 10 years I have been working as a Physicians/Surgical Assistant (this way I do not have to carry the malpractice ins LOL). I've been known to sing in the Operating Room to my patients to cheer them up, and to dance with the children in peds department.
This all came back into the picture when my children and I were on vacation in Disney World. They had a Kareoke bar in the restaurant, and since my boys have never seen me sing live, just for fun I belted out a tune. They were so amazed that for the last 2 years, they have been on my back to start singing again. So now that all I have are the two boys and NO HUSBAND anymore (THANK YOU GOD). I am trying to get my career off the ground again at 44.
I am still young and energetic, love people and entertaining. Some people are singers and some are performers. I chose to be a performer. I love to have the audience involved.
I have been blessed enough to have performed with some of the most famous legends of country music. Dottie West was the one who discovered me. I started off singing at the theme park Oprey Land during the summers. Miss Dottie heard me and my life began. Shelly West, Miss Dottie's daughter, is a wonderful performer who is as classic and wonderful as her mother. I, along with all of her fans, MISS YOU DOTTIE...Rest in Peace. We will carry on your name and songs.
